The Jeep Wrangler 4xe Should’ve Made This List
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe just got shafted before it’s had a chance to shine. It wasn’t listed as one of the 12 best cars worth waiting for, when it’s definitely a game changed that needs to be considered. Check out why the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe deserves a shot.
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is worth waiting for
According to KellyBlueBook, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe isn’t one of the top 12 best cars worth waiting for. Their list only included brand-new options for 2021, so of course, the insanely popular Ford Bronco made the list.
However, KBB didn’t give many new hybrid or electric vehicles like the Toyota RAV4 Prime any love. In fact, the Mustang Mach-E is the only electric option on the list, and the 2021 Toyota Sienna and 2021 Ford F-150 are the only hybrid options. Also, to our surprise, the massive Grand Jeep Wagoneer made the list.
KBB also didn’t provide information on how they evaluated each vehicle on their list. These vehicles simply made their debut in 2020. Each vehicle is described with what cool features they bring to the table, but pricing and information such as standard features haven’t been released for every option.
Why is the Jeep Wrangler 4xe worth waiting for?
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe is worth waiting for because it combines serious off-roading abilities for adventuring with an incredibly green build to protect the environment. This eco-friendly Jeep can climb over rocks, forge through streams, and more with its silent hybrid powertrain.
It’s also the most powerful Jeep Wrangler ever. It provides 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6 seconds. This plug-in hybrid Jeep has 25 miles of electric range before gas kicks in and has an estimated 50 mpg. It also has a total range of up to 400 miles.
Its 2.0-liter turbocharged inline engine and electric motor have 20 more lb-ft of torque than the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine that’s expected to go in the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon to provide 450 horsepower.
The 17.0-kWh lithium-ion-nickel-manganese-cobalt battery pack is stored under the backseat and is easy to access by flipping up a cushion. However, charging times and compatibility haven’t been released yet. Also, an LED display in the interior shows you how much charge the battery has.
2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe features
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe can forge through water that’s up to 30-inches deep. Each of the components of the hybrid powertrain is sealed and protected to be waterproof. It may also have an improved approach and departure angles.
Renegantive breaking occurs as the driver presses the brake pedal to bland traditional fiction with the maximum amount of power regen. The four-wheel-drive system also helps to recover battery charge.
You can drive in E Selec, Hybrid, and the eSave mode to either use gas, electric power, or a combination of both to get the most out of your 400-mile range. Also, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has a new cool look, with electric-blue badges and tow hooks. The pricing for the 4xe model hasn’t been released yet, but it should reach dealerships soon.
