The Jeep Wrangler Is one of the Best Deals You’ll Find This Memorial Day
The Jeep Wrangler always gets a lot of attention. Lately it hasn’t been getting much praise. But, no matter how much bad press it gets, the Jeep Wrangler remains a cool choice for cool people; it’s an unrivaled rock crawler. If you’ve been eyeing the Wrangler for years and you don’t care about the terrifying crash tests or the dismal Consumer Reports reliability rating, now is your moment. The 2020 Jeep Wrangler is one of the best deals you’ll find this Memorial Day.
Dealerships always throw out some tempting numbers around this time of year. This year especially, however, they are going all in and making some great offers. Talia James, Senior Manager of Public Relations for Edmunds, says now could be a great time to make moves toward buying a new vehicle. Especially trucks and SUVs.
“Edmunds analysts also note that since this is the first big holiday shopping event since the outbreak of coronavirus, and it’s happening as states begin to ease up on shelter-in-place restrictions, Memorial Day weekend presents a good opportunity for automakers and dealers to attract buyers after bleak sales numbers for the industry in April.”

Jeep Wrangler Memorial Day sales incentives
According to Kelley Blue Book, the Jeep Wrangler is one of the top 10 best Memorial Day deals. Kelley Blue Book calls the 2020 Jeep Wrangler more “civilized” and “capable” than ever before. KBB notes that Jeep is running a deal for 0% financing for 36 months. Additionally, Jeep is offering $1,500 cash back on the purchase of a new Jeep.
KBB also mentions another interesting deal. For a Jeep Wrangler 4-door Sahara you can receive $5,611 total value back from your purchase. Keep in mind, however, that each dealership sets their own prices and these deals are based on percentages off the sticker price.
What do they mean by employee pricing?
On Jeep’s Current Offers page we see employing pricing incentives advertised. Jeep uses a Fiat Chrysler Autogroup US LLC sales survey of the variance between average employee price per trim and the MSRP. Employee prices are calculated from the price point before advertised incentives are applied.
The discount will vary depending on the options, packages, additional features, availability, financing terms, trim level, and other factors. According to Jeep’s Current Offers, the individual dealer determines the vehicle price. So the final discounted price point will change depending on which dealer you decide to work with.
The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
If we take into account what we understand about the employee pricing incentive, we see up to 5% off the original MSRP. To put this into perspective, the total value off for a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 4×4 is $4,828. But for a base model Wrangler the incentive would mean only be a few hundred dollars less than the original price.
Also, don’t forget about the $200 administration fee you’ll be required to pay. All in all, these deals could add up to huge savings if you opt for a fully loaded upper level trim. But it won’t look as impressive on paper for a cheaper model. It’s also good to know that these deals apply to vehicles equipped with the 2.0 liter engine, not any of the upgraded engines such as the EcoDiesel motor.
2019 models left on the lot will have a lower sticker price than 2020 models. It’s important to research vehicles and their respective deals before committing. Have an appraised trade-in value to keep in mind when asking for trade-in offers and price quotes from various dealers.
Buying a car as the world begins to reopen
Edmunds shares some pretty interesting insights in terms of buying a new car in the wake of the economic disruption caused by the coronavirus (COVID19) pandemic. There are plenty of deals running for Memorial Day. You can do a significant amount of research online, and most dealers provide delivery service. Additionally, ask the dealer you decide to work with about performing a “contactless test-drive.”
