Kia may not be in the same league as Mercedes-Benz, but the small Korean automaker is really stepping up to the plate and building some great vehicles at even better prices. Kia has slowly been creeping into the luxury market and is starting to gain notice from critics.

Consumers who could never afford a luxury vehicle now have the opportunity to do so without having to refinance their home. The Kia K900 may not get as much love as BMW or Lexus, but you should definitely give it a shot. According to U.S. News, you get tons of standard features that don’t require you to upgrade to a higher trim level.

Standard Kia K900 safety features

While Mazda and Hyundai are considered to be the safest by IIHS, Kia still has some street cred when it comes to designing a vehicle that you can feel safe in. Several Kia vehicles made the IIHS list. The K900 was not on the list, but it hasn’t been tested by the IIHS yet.

Still, there are a lot of safety features that you don’t have to shell out extra dough for. Some of the features you can expect to get are adaptive headlights, lane departure warning, a head-up display, rear cross-traffic alert, surround-view parking camera system, front and rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.

There are also some fairly new features that you’ll love. There is driver attention monitoring, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and adaptive cruise control. And for those of us who have a habit of speeding before we realize how fast we’re going, the highway driving assist feature will be able to adjust your set speed to the posted speed limits on some federal highways.

The Kia K900’s luxurious interior

Having a car that turns heads like the Chevy Camaro may make you feel great, but if the interior is uncomfortable, that sweet feeling isn’t going to last long. Thankfully, the Kia K900 has some amazing interior features that you’ll love. 

Most automakers require that you upgrade to a higher trim level to get leather seats, but Kia is breaking out of the mold for this one. The upholstery is covered in soft, luxurious Nappa leather that is sure to make you comfortable no matter how long your trip is. Add to this heated front seats that are also ventilated, and you may be tempted to sleep in your K900 rather than go inside. 

Unlike many other automakers, Kia didn’t forget about the back-seat passengers. Not only are the seats heated, which is unheard of in most back seats, but Kia has some other features that are often overlooked. For example, the passenger side windows have manual sunshades. Rather than being blinded every time you drive around sunrise or sunset, your passengers will be able to pull down the sunshade. 

Another great feature is that even tall passengers can sit comfortably in the back. There’s more than enough legroom for someone over 6 feet, so if you go out with the guys for a night on the town, you’ll no longer have arguments about who gets to sit in the front.

The technology doesn’t disappoint

One of the first questions many consumers ask now is: how big is the infotainment screen, and can I get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto? Some automakers offer a small screen, but they’ll offer bigger screens if you upgrade. Kia has once again bucked the system by offering a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen standard. Most automakers offer a 5-inch screen standard, and an 8-inch screen is offered on the higher trim levels. Kia has once again outdone itself by offering only the best. 

Kia has also been offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on several models for a while now, so it’s no big surprise that the K900 also has these great additions. To top all of this off, the K900 comes with Bluetooth, multiple USB ports, and wireless device charging. U.S. News reports that the infotainment system is easy to use, and it doesn’t have any lag.
