According to a study by iSeeCars, the Kia Telluride is selling at a much faster rate than the Hyundai Palisade. By analyzing over 4,4 million new and used vehicle sales between March to June of 2020, they determined that the Kia Telluride takes an average of 25.7 days to sell while the Hyundai Palisade takes an average of 39 days to sell.

The Kia Telluride landed in second place on the list of the fastest-selling vehicles, but the Hyundai Palisade came in 5th place. Also, the Chevy Trailblazer came first, so we will have to investigate that in another article.

But this study also determined that the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) slowed the rate at which people are buying new vehicles. Before the outbreak, it took about 57.8 days for a new car to sell, but now it takes about 96.9 days for a new car to sell.

This could be because many auto manufacturers closed their factories to prevent the spread of COVID-19, making vehicles harder to find due to lower supply. But anyway, let’s see what the Kia Telluride has on the Hyundai Palisade.

Why does the 2020 Kia Telluride sell faster than the 2020 Hyundai Palisade?

Did you know that the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride are Korean cousins? Hyundai owns 33% of Kia. The Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade share the same platform, have the same engine, the same amount of horsepower, similar features, and more.

Both SUVs have a 3,8-liter V6 engine that pumps out 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. The Hyundai Palisade takes about 7.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph, while the Kia Telluride takes 7.2 seconds to reach 60 mph.

According to MotorTrend, the 2020 Kia Telluride has a more leisurely acceleration. It’s smooth and doesn’t make you feel like you’re in a rush. Also, the Hyundai Palisade offers softer handling, but both vehicles have quiet interiors.

Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade features

Both the Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade start around $32,000, making it even harder to choose between the two. Also, both vehicles feel like luxurious family haulers without the luxury price tag.

Both base models come with leatherette seating, 18-inch wheels, an 8-inch infotainment center, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, forward collision prevention, etc. You can add all-wheel drive to both SUVs and spend more on a variety of luxury features too.

The Hyundai Palisade has the driver seat a bit higher off the road than the Kia Telluride, but the Kia Telluride allows drivers to feel more connected with the road. To decide between these SUVs, it will come down to seeing how both of them drive.

Also, their looks may come into play. The Kia Telluride has a new, boxy, upright design while the Hyundai Palisade is a bit more angular. The Hyundai Palisade looks like it sits closer to the ground too.
