Drivers that own American-built cars are usually pretty proud of the fact that there cars are, well, American. We all know the popular all-American manufacturers like Ford and Dodge, but those aren’t the only car brands that manufacturer in the United States. In fact, while the nations most popular pickup truck, the Ford F-150, is manufacturer in the US, you might be surprised to hear that the most popular SUV, the Kia Telluride, also is.

Designed in California, manufactured in the US

From conception through production, the Kia Telluride is, in fact, produced in America. Although some parts might be outsourced from other countries, like tires, the complete production line for the Telluride is located in United States. The design for this popular family vehicle was completed by the Kia team located in California. Even more American, the car is named after a small US town, Telluride, Colorado.

A true American car

Many people don’t recognize Kia is an American automotive manufacturer like they do Chevrolet and other home-grown brands. You might be surprised to hear that Kia has some major, well-established manufacturing plants here in the States. In West Point, Georgia, you will find the Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia Inc, KMMG Inc, where the popular Telluride is produced alongside the brands more established vehicles.

American’s love American-made cars

Whether you are patriotic or not, there are a lot of reasons to support a brand that manufacturers your cars right here in the states. While there isn’t any difference in quality between cars produced here or overseas, and there are still a lot of regulations that have to be followed, having a car made here helps local economies.

For companies as big as Kia, that could mean thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of jobs involved in the large-scale production of one model. To cut down on costs of importing materials, that could also mean using resources that are more local, and this helps out the local economy, and even national, in so many different ways.

On the other hand, people aren’t all that turned off by a car that isn’t made in America. The Kia brand all together has skyrocketed in popularity. For a manufacturer that started out as another lower-end car builder, they’ve truly made a name for themselves and stepped up to the plate with competitive vehicles.

From the Stinger to the Telluride, many owners are becoming increasingly impressed with what Kia has to offer, and chances are, just like me, you haven’t given much though to where the brand even came from. We know that Lotus builds their cars in England and Nissan builds theirs in Japan, and it hasn’t done much to deter buyers. For some people, it’s just nice to know that the Kia Telluride is made in America.

The Kia Telluride is already one of the best selling large SUVs in America. From price to practicality, there are so many reasons that people love the Telluride. If you didn’t like it enough already, this might just be one more reason to add it to your list of cars to test drive.
