The 2020 Lincoln Navigator has definitely earned our respect this year. This large SUV has set itself apart from the competition for a variety of reasons. But judging based on comfort alone, the Lincoln Navigator is a clear winner in the luxury SUV class. 

The 2020 Navigator is ritzy and roomy

A true luxury vehicle should be exceptional in every way and some may be surprised to know that the 2020 Navigator lives up to many of our lavish expectations. The Navigator is a peaceful ride that makes comfort a top priority. In fact, the Navigator’s serene car cabin prompted U.S. News to name it as this year’s most comfortable luxury SUV.

Depending on the configuration you pick, the Navigator can seat up to eight people. The standard captain’s chairs setup accommodates seven and the optional bench row configuration gives you the extra seat. The Navigator’s first two rows come standard with leather upholstery. Other appealing standard features are the front row’s heated and ventilated seats along with the heated second-row seats. 

The Navigator has earned praise from many critics for being a three-row SUV that actually provides enough head- and legroom on each row. Another highlight here is that each seat can recline, making the Navigator feel more like a living room on wheels. You’ll be happy to know that cargo space is also generous in this large SUV. 

In-car technology is a highlight too

U.S. News did criticize the 2020 Navigator’s 10-inch  infotainment display screen for not being sharp, but the SUV makes up for that in other ways. The Navigator features a 14-speaker sound system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a wifi hotspot. A navigation feature comes standard too. You can also upgrade the Navigator with wireless charging or with a rear-seat entertainment system to make those in the back feel even more comfortable.

What it’s like to drive the Navigator 

The Navigator has also been celebrated for its performance capabilities. This Lincoln gets its power from a 450-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine that’s linked to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Navigator feels lively and rides smooth in most driving situations.

It can also haul up to 8,700 pounds when equipped correctly. But, large vehicles like the Navigator do have a few downsides. For one, the Navigator’s massive size makes it hard to park and it’s also not the best on fuel economy. The Navigator has a fuel economy rating of 18 mpg. 

Can’t forget about safety The National HighwayTraffic Safety Administration gave the 2020 Navigator a five-star crash-test safety rating.  To help avoid crashes altogether the Navigator also comes with a long list of advanced safety features. These include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and rear cross-traffic alert.  

While the NHTSA gave the Navigator a perfect safety rating, you should also know that this Lincoln was recalled twice. Once recall is related to a potential issue with its electrical system and the other relates to the Navigator’s seat assembly. These recalls don’t have to be deal-breakers though. Just make sure to address the potential trouble spots with your auto dealer.
