Buick is one of the most well-known American luxury brands and while you might think that it has all but gone by the wayside, the upscale automaker from General Motor’s is actually still raging on today. And while the brand is better known for all of the sedans it’s produced since the early 1900s, it’s SUVs have gained some popularity as well. Buick Enclave

The Buick Enclave is the brand’s seven-seat, luxury SUV that made its debut for the 2008 model year and is still going strong today. Due to its upmarket and flexible nature, the Enclave has gained some popularity over the years, and with more sales comes the likelihood of more complaints, as there are currently 563 of them filed on Car Complaints.

The site lists the 2008 model year as the worst one to get, which we can understand considering it was the first model year for the car and there are bound to be some issues. The worst issue listed is for transmission problems as 112 owners have said that the transmission in their Enclaves has failed around the 100,000-mile mark, which warranted a replacement. According to Car Complaints, the average cost to fix it is $3,570.

Buick Encore

The Encore is Buick’s five-seat subcompact crossover that’s been in the market since 2013 and is still there today. Although it’s a re-billed Opel Mokka, the Encore has garnered much attention since it’s North American debut, which is evident in the 144 complaints that it has received on Car Complaints. The worst year indicated on the website is the 2014 model year, however, the 2013 model year has almost as many.

Fortunately, many of the issues are regarding the interior accessories not working properly, including the door locks not working, the dash gauges not working properly, and the display panel losing lighting. However, there are also issues concerning the battery dying prematurely.

Buick Rendezvous

Remember the Pontiac Aztek? Well, the Buick Rendezvous was its corporate cousin that was in production from 2002 to 2007. In case you’re feeling frisky and want part of General Motor’s weird history, then stay away from the 2002 model year as that’s the worst year to get. The main issues listed are for engine problems, as many owners complained of blown head gaskets, engine leaks, and worst of all, leaking intake manifold gaskets, which Car Complaints lists as a $1,440 fix.
