Due to new technology and lavish interiors, the prices of new pickup trucks have spiked over the past year. Most popular base models are still affordable, but you often don’t get the most powerful engine. If you happen to be rich, however, you probably won’t lose much sleep spending more than $50,000 on a truck.

There are many premium trims available from truck makers, but the most expensive Ford truck shocked us more than the others. So what exactly is included with the luxury Ford F-450 Super Duty Limited?

How much is the Ford F-450 Super Duty Limited?

A “regular” F-450 costs around $50,000, which includes a 6.7-liter turbodiesel engine capable of 450 hp and a whopping 935 lb-ft of torque. It can haul up to 7,640 pounds in the cargo box and has one of the highest towing capacities, up to 35,000 pounds, in its class.

In contrast, the Limited edition costs around $97,000 — actually a bit of a discount compared to when it was first released for $100,000. This is still a lot of money to drop on a truck, but it does come with exclusive options not available on the standard model.

The F-450 definitely has the high-class interior you’d expect from a $100,000 vehicle. The interior is spacious for all passengers, and the comfortable seats are made with high-quality leather; they’re also heated and ventilated.

Front-seat passengers can even get a massage from their seats. With three-zone lumbar support, every seat is built with memory foam to acclimate to the passenger’s weight.

This F-450 Limited also has a panoramic moonroof and unique exterior appearance. It uses platinum plating for its accents instead of standard chrome and has a satin finish on both the grille and tailgate appliques.

Even with all the interior bells and whistles, Ford didn’t skimp on the vehicle’s power. The Power Stroke turbodiesel engine is standard, but drivers can also have a new engine for this trim — a 7.3-liter V8 that produces 475 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque.

The Limited has an extra-wide front axle compared to Ford’s other Super Duty trucks, which gives it more power and lighter turning. However, its payload isn’t as high as the cheaper F-350 due to its bigger curb weight.

Inside, the Limited has Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment software that comes with an eight-inch touchscreen, smartphone connectivity, wireless smartphone charging, built-in navigation, and Bluetooth. The truck has a premium 10-speaker audio system produced by Bang & Olufsen. All of these features can be accessed via the touchscreen or voice command.

The Limited comes with many essential safety features including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, a 360-degree camera, lane-keeping assistance, and forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection. It also has trailer safety functions like dynamic hitch assist, sway control, and trailer blind spot sensors.

High ownership costs

Owning a truck with this much technology and power has very few downsides provided you have the funds to maintain it. The Limited is designed to run on commercial 19.5-inch tires, which are expensive to replace.

While it does get better fuel economy than previous model years, you’ll likely spend a little over $20,000 each year just on fuel. Unless that’s in your budget, you should probably admire this truck from a distance.
