The Most Frustrating 2021 Nissan Titan Features

The 2021 Nissan Titan didn’t get many updates since it was slightly refreshed for the 2020 model year. It obviously has something working for it, because Nissan hasn’t pulled the plug on it yet. However, consider the ups and downs before buying this good looking truck. There are a few frustrating Titan features to consider.

Annoying 2021 Nissan Titan features

You can get started in the 2021 Nissan Titan for about $36,550. This is the MSRP, so dealerships may have marked up this number a little to make a profit. Also, this is more expensive than rivals.

The Nissan Titan is the largest pickup available from the Japanese manufacturer.

For example, the 2021 Ford F-150 has an MSRP of about $28,940. But with the F-150 base model, you only get a single cab and a 3.3-liter V6 that provides 290 hp. With the Titan base model, you get the king cab and a 5.6-liter V8 engine with 400 hp. Making those upgrades on the F-150 could dramatically increase its price.

But does that make the Nissan Titan worth buying? Car and Driver suggests only using it as a work truck. They recommend going with the Nissan Titan S, the base model, and adding 4×4 for about $3,230. Then they covered a few frustrating features.

1. The ride quality isn’t the best

While other rivals have multiple engine options, the 2021 Nissan Titan only has its 5.6-liter V8 engine with 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque, which is adequate. It provides a fast acceleration and has stopping power.

However, the ride quality and handling aren’t up to par. Also, the Nissan Titan Pro-4X off-roading version has different off-roading shocks that don’t perform as well on rough roads. It feels stiffer than competitors. To put it simply, it can’t match the ride quality of the Ram 1500.

2. It can’t work as hard

It would be rude to call the Nissan Titan weak because it can tow up to 9,600 lb when properly equipped. That’s more weight than most people need to haul. Plus, every model can tow at least 9,240 lb.

The Titan just can’t tow as much as rivals. But in the 2020 Ford F-150 with the 3.3-liter V6 engine, you can only tow up to 7,700 lb. You can upgrade to more potent engines for more power. But the 2021 F-150 can tow up to 14,000 lb, which is insane for a light-duty truck.

3. The interior could be improved

While the Nissan Titan has a serene, quiet cabin, it doesn’t have the best quality. It’s full of plastics and other cheap materials. The cabin is described as dull, which isn’t a fun word at all.

Also, the rear seat of the crew cab model has the smallest backseat out of all of its competitors. There is ample storage space, but it’s hard to find places to store smaller items. Plus, its cargo bins have the smallest amount of storage out of its rivals.

It comes with an 8.0” infotainment center, and you can upgrade to the 9” screen. Both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 have a massive 12” infotainment center. But, on a positive note, the NissanConnect system provides a modernized user experience.
