Whether you like German luxury vehicles or not, you have to admit that Audi has been on its game in the past decade or so. The automaker went from producing cars that are more likely to end up at your local repair shop to producing cars that are more likely to end up on the silver screen. And while Audi’s unmistakable style and attention to superior craftsmanship is easily evident in all of their vehicles, the brand has also been focusing on making its lineup more fuel-efficient these days.

From electric SUVs, like the E-Tron, to a hybrid variant of the Q5, Audi has been busy in paving the way for a greener and cleaner future. As such, we have put together a list of the most fuel-efficient Audi SUVs currently in the lineup according to Fueleconomy.gov.

Audi Q3

The Audi Q3 is the brand’s smallest SUV offering that has enough seating room for five and provides a luxurious way to cruise around town. Under the hood, it has a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque that can make it scoot from 0 to 60 mph in 7 seconds, according to Audi. But what’s more important is the fact that it can achieve up to an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

Audi Q5

If you’re looking for something a little bigger than the Q3, then the Audi Q5 could fit the bill. You can opt for either the gasoline that’s powered by a potent turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that pumps out 261 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque or the plug-in hybrid Q5 that’s powered by a gas/electric powertrain that produces a staggering 362 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.

If you choose the latter, then you’ll be able to get an EPA-estimated 23 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. But to maximize your fuel economy, you’ll have to go with the Q5 plug-in hybrid, which can get up 65 MPGe in combined driving and 27 mpg combined when the electric juice runs out.

Audi E-tron

In some ways, the Audi E-Tron doesn’t really count on this list since it’s a full-electric vehicle. However, we decided to add it since it’s technically fuel-efficient as it doesn’t use any gasoline at all. But if you need ample seating for up to five adults along with all the safety features and luxurious amenities that you would come to expect from an Audi, then the E-Tron or the E-Tron Sportback are great choices. According to the EPA, the E-Tron gets up to 76 MPGe in the city and 78 MPGe on the highway, and although that’s not real mpg numbers, we still consider it quite fuel-efficient even if they were.

 Fuel-efficient Audis

Audi has always been one of the most well-rounded German automakers in the market, and it seems to be getting better as the years go on. Sure, there was a hiccup with its diesel cars a few years ago, but now the brand is rectifying the situation in a huge by making all of its gas models much more fuel-efficient in addition to creating more electric vehicles in the future.
