Consumer Reports gave this truck a high mark for reliability, something that models from 2016 moving forward didn’t earn due to redesign issues. It’s not uncommon for the 2015 Toyota Tacoma to hit 200,000 miles and still be in great working order. It offered several engine options and came with many excellent standard features. It was the first year that the regular cab wasn’t offered.

The 2015 Toyota Tacoma has impressive hauling and towing capacities. All models can tow up to 3,400 pounds. With the tow package and V6 engine, it can actually tow up to 6,500 pounds.

2015 and 2016 Toyota Tundra

When it comes to a reliable truck, the Toyota Tundra is hard to beat. The Texas-built truck earned top ratings eight of nine years and was recommended by Consumer Reports in 2015, 2016, and 2018, with top reliability marks in 2015 and 2018.

The Tundra is a quality full-size truck. First redesigned in 2007, the 2015 model offered two powerful V8 engines and an excellent off-roading trim level in the TRD Pro. The CrewMax models have lots of legroom in the rear for a super comfortable ride for everyone. The 2015 Tundra had a max payload capacity of 2,080 pounds and can tow up to 10,500 pounds.

The 2016 model got a useful infotainment upgrade, so tech-savvy drivers may want to opt for this year. The rear seating area is roomy now in the CrewMax and Double cab models for 2016. Its max payload is 2,060 pounds with a towing capacity of 10,500 pounds when it’s properly outfitted. There are driver assistances features with the 2016 Toyota Tundra’s like trailer sway control.
