Looks can be deceiving. Sometimes larger SUVs don’t have a lot of room on the inside, and occasionally small SUVs can fit an entire queen-sized bed on the inside. If you need a roomy SUV for your family or to haul a lot of items, do your research first.

Which SUVs Have The Most Space? 

We’re going to look at a few different SUVs based on size. This way, the drivers that want a compact SUV instead of a massive tank of an SUV can still find an option with all the cargo room they need. Don’t worry. We will have options for mid-sized SUV fans too. 

The 2020 Toyota 4Runner 

The Toyota 4Runner is a more significant SUV option, but we wouldn’t call it massive. It can seat up to seven passengers comfortably. 

Three people can sit in the second row, and two people can relax in the third row without feeling crowded. The 4Runner has the most space for third-row passengers out of any other option. 

Plus, the 4Runner has up to 90 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats folded down. That’s a massive amount of room for bikes, furniture, and more. 

There are also nine cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row of seats and 46 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row. 

The 2020 Chevy Tahoe 

Now the Chevy Tahoe is a massive beast that looks like it should have all the room on the inside, and it does. It can fit up to nine passengers. That’s enough seats for the clowns at the circus without them having to all crowd in. 

When the second and third row of seats are folded down, you can access up to 94 cubic feet of cargo space, which should be more than enough. 

There are 15 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row of seats, providing more trunk room with Tahoe than the 4Runner. There are also 54 cubic feet of cargo space when the third row is removed. 

The 2017 Honda CR-V 

To scale things down a bit, let’s look at the compact Honda CR-V. For a smaller vehicle, this SUV is incredibly spacious. It’s a five-passenger vehicle with up to 75.8 cubic feet of cargo space. 

The rear seats have a 40/60 split and can be folded down to suit your needs. When the seats are up, you can access p to 39.2 cubic feet of cargo space. This is an impressive amount of trunk space for a compact SUV. 

The 2017 Ford Escape 

The 2017 Ford Escape is another compact SUV option that’s very roomy on the inside. This Escape model provides up to 68 cubic feet of cargo space, which is more than you would expect. 

Behind the second row of seats, the trunk area has 34 cubic feet of space to utilize. Plus, there are four cargo hooks to tie down your stuff. 

2020 Yukon XL 

To bring things back to the massive side of things, the XL is no joke. The GMC Yukon XL is appropriately named nine-passenger SUV. It has up to 121 cubic feet of cargo space, which is enough room to live in.

Plus, when all of the seats are being used, you can still access up to 39.3 cubic feet of cargo space for your luggage. Behind the second row of seats, you can access up to 76.7 cubic feet of cargo space.
