It’s no secret that in the past, the Hummer Truck wasn’t too great. Several issues plagued the street version of the Humvee. However. The new Hummer EV Truck is coming, and it’s bringing a number of updates with it. Let’s see if the updates will be improved or not. 

The New Hummer EV Truck is Coming 

The H2 Hummer can be referenced as the reason GMC went bankrupt. However, Hummers still remained wildly popular as overpriced status symbols instead of reliable vehicles. 

The broken past of the Hummer could be erased with the all-new Hummer EV, which is rumored to be the best Hummer so far. 

An Improved Hummer Fuel Economy And Power 

One major issue with previous models included terrible fuel efficiency. But now the Hummer EV is excellent on fuel because it’s going to be electric. 

Instead of gas hungry V8 engines, the 2020 Hummer EV will be equipped with electric motors and battery packs. There will also be three motor options to choose from. 

Older Hummer models were also criticized for being weak and slow. These massive, boxy SUVs would take so long to accelerate, making them embarrassing to drive, especially while attempting to pass other drivers. 

However, the new Hummer EV claims that it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds. This will make it one of the fastest truck options available. 

The new Hummer EV also claims that it will have up to 1,000 horsepower with 11,500 lb-ft of torque, making it one powerful beast. 

New Hummer EV Features 

The Hummer EV is being marketed as a quiet revolution because one of the significant updates it’s receiving is a quiet electric engine. If you want a quiet cab, then this truck could be your best option. 

While most of the Hummer EV features are being kept under wraps until it’s revealed on May 20th, we can speculate that it will have a 400-mile range on a single charge. 

This will allow the Hummer EV to go farther than the small electric vehicles already on the streets, like the Kia Soul EV. 

The Hummer EV will also be equipped with 350 kWh fast chargers and an 800-volt architecture. 

However, the Hummer EV is built to compete with options like the Rivian and Tesla instead of lower-priced options. 

We will see if the Ford Electric Truck will be able to compete with the Hummer EV later in the year. 

Until then, we can speculate that the Hummer EV 2 is moderately priced against the competition as it’s rumored to start around $70k. 

Clues from other GMC vehicles allow us to speculate that the Hummer EV will have tons of space for two rows of seats with plenty of cargo storage areas. 

Of course, the Hummer EV will have an infotainment center that can connect to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but we hope to see some more advancements in tech as well. 

The Hummer EV will also have modern and or advanced safety features. Along with forward collision prevention and lane departure assistance, maybe we will see a 360 camera view for off-roading as well.
