The Chevy Silverado Trail Boss VS The Ram Rebel
The 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss has a hefty starting price around $50k while the 2020 Ram Rebel starts around $44k. Saving about $6k on an off-roading truck sways us toward the Ram Rebel so far.
But the Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss comes with the 5.3-liter EcoTech V8 engine that provides 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the Ram Rebel has a 3.6-liter V6 base model engine with 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque.

With the Chevy Trail Boss, you can upgrade to the 6.2-liter V8 engine for 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. But it doesn’t come with a diesel option.
The Ram Rebel has an optional 5.8-liter V8 engine that provides 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. You can also upgrade to the 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine for 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.
Chevy Silverado Trail Boss and Ram Rebel Off-Roading Specs
The Chevrolet Trail Boss comes with a 2” Z71 factory suspension lift, 18” tires, and an automatic locking rear differential. It has Monotube shocks to absorb impacts and an extra skid plate to protect the undercarriage.
The Ram Rebel also comes with 18” tires and an electronically locking rear differential. It has Bilstein shocks for a more comfortable ride on the road as well.
It comes with two skid plates and is available in 4WD or rear-wheel drive. To add 4X4 to the Ram Rebel, it costs about an extra $3k, while the Chevy Trail Boss comes with standard 4X4. Also, the Ram Rebel only comes with a 1” factory lift.
Both trucks come with hill descent control. But the Ram Rebel has remote reservoirs in the rear suspension to enhance it’s set up. Also, the Chevy Silverado LT Trail Boss as a 10.8” ground clearance while the Ram Rebel sits at 8”.

The Ram Rebel has a more luxurious interior with spacious leather seats and soft-touch leather materials throughout the dash. The Chevy Silverado Trail Boss has a bland interior that seems a little outdated.
In the Ram Rebel, you’ll find a 12” infotainment center, which is huge! The Chevy Trail Boss has an 8” infotainment center with multiple camera views, including hitch guidance. The Chevy Trail Boss also comes with an integrated brake controller.
The Ram Rebel has similar towing features and can tow up to 12,750 lb, beating the Chevy Silverado Trail Boss’s towing capacity of 12,200 lb. The Ram Rebel feels like the clear winner here. It provides a more luxurious interior for a comfortable ride, which is necessary at its high price. It also offers more options to suit a variety of needs, including a diesel engine.
