The 2020 Honda Accord is the recipient of several awards, picking up Kelley Blue Book’s 2020 Best Buy: Midsize Car and the 2020 Car and Driver’s 10 Best Cars. The 2019 Accord had additional awards, including a 2019 IIHS Top Safety Pick.

In its review, Car and Driver proclaims the 2020 Accord “number one” among family sedans. The 2020 Accord offers six trim levels for buyers to pick from: LX, Hybrid, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring. It has a lot of features, but which ones come standard across all the trim levels?

The 2020 Honda Accord’s appearance

Redesigned for 2018 with the tenth generation, the 2020 model year doesn’t have many changes, but Edmunds points out that the car is already “stylish and comfortable.” All six trims come with remote keyless entry. Other exterior features vary across the trim levels.

LED fog lights are featured on the Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring trims. Touring also has LED headlights. The Sport trim has a spoiler, while EX, EX-L, and Touring come with a moonroof. On the LX, Hybrid, EX, and EX-L trims, 17-inch alloy wheels are standard, but 19-inch alloy wheels are an option. The Sport and Touring trims come standard with 19-inch alloy wheels.

U.S. News describes the Accord’s interior as upscale with top-quality materials and a good finish. The car’s interior is quite large, especially for rear-seat passengers. As for cargo, there are 16.7 cubic feet of cargo space.

There aren’t many interior options, so the luxury of the interior is tied to the trim level selected. All of the trims come with Bluetooth and USB ports. Four of the six trims offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, which can be found in the Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring trims.

These trims also have the larger 8-inch display screen rather than the 7-inch one that comes in the base LX and Hybrid trims. The EX-L and Touring trims offer a premium audio system, leather-trimmed seats, and driver seat position memory. The Touring also provides a navigation system, a head-up display, and a wireless phone charger.

Different powertrain options

Car and Driver says the 2020 Honda Accord has “graceful handling” and a “balanced ride” across each of the trims. It has three available powertrain options: two gas-powered four-cylinder engines or a hybrid option. The two gas options have either a six-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The hybrid powertrain is standard on the Hybrid trim and available on the EX, EX-L, and Touring trim levels. The 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 192 hp is standard on the LX, EX, EX-L trims. The Sport trim comes standard with the 1.5-liter engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which generates 252 hp and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, is standard on the Touring and an option on the EX-L. It’s an option on the Sport trim when paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

The 2020 Honda Accord’s safety features

As with most Honda vehicles, all trim levels of the Honda Accord come standard with the Honda Sensing suite of driver-assist features, which provides collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. A backup camera comes standard as well.

There are some optional safety features that buyers can select, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert appear on the top three trims, while parking sensors come on just the Touring trim.

With starting prices that range from $24,020 up to $36,250, the six 2020 Honda Accord trim levels offer something to fit the needs of every buyer in the market for a great midsize sedan.
