To help acclimate customers to the concept of hybrid-car ownership, many brands have integrated hybrid options for their more popular vehicles. Hence, why competitors like the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord both have hybrid drivetrains available. But, which one is worth buying?

The Toyota Camry has been a popular option for a wide range of drivers for many years. They offer high-tech safety, comfort, and practicality without being an unreasonable price for what it offers. So, it makes sense that with the comfort of previous years of reliability under its belt, the Toyota Camry would be a safe bet for consumers looking for something futuristic without committing to a completely electric vehicle.

For the average driver, fuel economy is a pretty big deal. It doesn’t really matter how far you travel in the day to have a concept of how responsible our fuel economy is. For the Toyota Camry hybrid, you can expect an average of 47 mpg on the base model, which is about on par with what you can expect with the Honda Accord hybrid. Where the Camry steals the show is that it doesn’t compromise precise handling and an enjoyable acceleration in order to achieve competitive mpg.

The controls for the Accord are remarkably overcomplicated, as opposed to the user-friendly interface of the Camry that not only improves the driving experience but also matches the modest appearances of the car’s interior.

Of course, both cars do have a lot to offer, and while there are a lot of highlights for the Toyota Camry, there are also plenty of reasons to love the Honda Accord. Really, both are great options, but if you have to weigh one over the other to make a final purchasing decision, this might just give you the edge you need to tip the scale.
