To get started in the Kia Telluride, you only have to spend about $31k, which isn’t bad for a three-row SUV.

Also, to our surprise, the Highlander has a better fuel economy. It gets up to 21 mpg in the city and up to 30 mpg on the highway.
The Telluride only gets 20 mpg in the city and up to 26 mpg on the highway.
Kia Telluride And Toyota Highlander Power
The Kia Telluride has one powerful engine option. It’s a 3.8-liter V6 engine with 291 horsepower and 262 ft-lb of torque. It can tow up to 5,000 lb.
However, we expected the Telluride to be a little faster. It takes 7.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph.
The Toyota Highlander has a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 295 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque. It can also tow up to 5,000 lb.
Also, it has a similar acceleration to the Kia Telluride and can go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds.
Both of these vehicles come in front-wheel drive, but you can upgrade to all-wheel-drive to enhance your capability in slippery conditions.
The Toyota Highlander offers AWD driving modes for mud, sand, rock, and more. Plus, it has vectoring AWD to send 50% of the power to the rear wheels and to send more power to the wheel in need.
Meanwhile, the Kia Telluride only has a snow mode for AWD.
However, both vehicles have a Macpherson independent front suspension and stabilizer bar with a multi-link independent suspension and stabilizer bar in the rear.
Kia Telluride And Toyota Highlander Features
The Toyota Highlander is equipped with sound dampening materials for a quiet cabin.
The Kia Telluride has a sound-absorbing windshield, which may not be as quiet.
The Kia Telluride has a 10.3” infotainment center while the Highlander has a 12.3” infotainment center.
They can both connect to Apple CarPlay, but only the Telluride can connect to Android Auto.
However, the Telluride has a heads up display to allow drivers to view crucial information without taking their eyes off the road.
Also, the Telluride is more spacious. It has 21 cubic space in the rear and up to 87 cubic feet of cargo space total.
The Toyota Highlander has 16 cubic feet of cargo space in the back and only 84 cubic feet of cargo space total.
Plus, the Telluride has more safety features such as lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot detection, and more.
The Kia Telluride is safer and has more tech, but the Toyota Highlander is more suited for comfort and off-roading.
It’s hard to determine a winner, but the Telluride is just as capable and much safer.
