The first is because the Texas ranch where Toyota manufactures Tundra trucks was originally the JCL Ranch. The owner established the ranch in 1794. It stayed in operation until Toyota purchased the land.
The second reason Toyota chose 1794 was to pay homage to the Sweden-Denmark Neutrality Act of 1794. The act was the result of Sweden’s efforts to make peace with Denmark, a country they’d been fighting with for over 500 years. In an attempt to establish peace, the young Swedish king invited several important Danes to a party. By the time the party ended, both sides had signed a peace treaty.
