Sometimes buying a truck is a money pit, but other times it’s a great way to provide savings. The Toyota Tundra is an excellent example of a quality truck that lasts and has a low cost of ownership. Check out why the Toyota Tundra is the most reliable option for your wallet.

The Toyota Tundra Is The Most Reliable Truck

The Toyota Tundra has won a superior victory by having the lowest cost to own over five years against the Ford F-150, which came in third and the Ram 1500 that came in third place. While the Tundra is rated at $45k for the true cost of ownership, the Ford F-150 comes in around $48k, and the Ram 1500 sits around $49k.

Part of the reason why the Toyota Tundra has a lower cost of ownership is because it has the lowest depreciation rate compared to its rivals. The Toyota Tacoma has the lowest depreciation rate, and the Toyota Tundra comes in second on the top 10 list of vehicles that hold their value the most.

According to AARP, the average vehicle loses 38.2% of its value after three years of ownership. However, the Toyota Tundra only depreciates by 28.2% after three years of ownership. The average price is also around $32k after three years.

The Toyota Tundra Focuses On Quality

Another reason why the Toyota Tundra is so valuable is because it’s known for having quality, reliable parts. The base model comes with a 5.7-liter aluminum iFORCE V8 engine with DOHC 32-valve cylinder heads. It also has a stainless steel exhaust manifold.

The front suspension is an independent coil spring high mounted double-wishbone suspension. In the rear, you will find a live axle with trapezoidal multi-leaf rear suspension. Stabilizer bars and nitrogen gas-filled shock absorbers are in the front and back as well.

For towing, the Toyota Tundra comes equipped with an integrated brake controller with a multi-information display that keeps you up to date on crucial information such as gain and manual trailer output. Trailer sway control is also included.

Plus, the Toyota Tundra is a safe truck. All of its safety features are included in the base model, so you don’t have to pay more to enhance your protection. The Tundra comes with pedestrian directions, forward collision prevention, dynamic radar cruise control, and more.

To keep the kiddos safe, the Toyota Tundra has lower anchor tethers for children (LATCH) on the rear outboard seats and a tether in the center seat. Child-protector locks on the rear doors are included as well.

Toyota Care

The Toyota Tundra comes with legendary Toyota Care as well. This care plan is free for purchased and leased trucks. It covers standard factory maintenance costs for the first two years of ownership or the first 25,000 miles. Plus, 24-hour roadside assistance is included for two years regardless of mileage.
