We are gathered here today to officially say goodbye to the Ram 1500 Classic. We knew that it was discontinued and eventually, it would exit production. The time is here, so if you want the Ram 1500 Classic and its reliable V8 engine, the clock is ticking.

Production of the Ram 1500 Classic ends in September

Hurry up and get your Ram 1500 Classic order in. It’s still available, but the order book will be officially closing any day now.

Production of this truck is coming to an end in September. This is the first time the Classic truck hasn’t been on the assembly line since 2009.

The classic model has been available for the past five years, even though the current Ram generation was launched in 2019 due to popular demand.

However, now the brand is eliminating its reliable V8 engine and the Classic model no longer has a place in the lineup. It would be too expensive to retrofit for the new Hurricane inline-six engine.

However, the Ram 1500 Classic isn’t exactly affordable. It starts at $38,705 with the $1,995 destination fee included. The 2024 Ram 1500 starts at $41,415 with the destination fee included.

So, the Ram Classic is technically the most affordable option in the lineup, but for an extra $2,710 you can have modern tech and comfort. You could save about $2,000 against the Classic by opting for a standard 2024 Ford F-150 model.

While the standard engine is the 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine, you get 305 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque. Upgrade to the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 for 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. It costs $2,545 to upgrade.

With the Hemi, the Ram Classic can tow up to 10,620 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,930 lbs. The regular Ram 1500 can tow up to 12,750 lbs and carry a payload of up to 2,321 lbs. The F-150 can tow up to 13,500 lbs.

Overall, the Ram 1500 Classic is outdated and can’t tow as much as modern trucks. However, it’s extremely reliable. But time is running out.
