Even automotive superstars like Danica Patrick have sold cars due to a lack of cupholders. Subaru Ascent: 19 cupholders

The Subaru Ascent isn’t just the biggest SUV that Subaru has ever produced; it also has 19 cupholders, the highest number of any car. There’s so many that some owners aren’t even sure where they’re all located. 2020 Hyundai Palisade: 18 cupholders

This vehicle comes the closest to matching the Subaru Ascent in terms of cupholders. While its 18 cupholders are great, one of the other impressive aspects of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade is the seven USB charging ports. Considering how many electronic devices we all bring on trips, this many USB charging ports seems like something every vehicle should have.

Volkswagen Atlas: 17 cupholders

One of the issues German car manufacturers faced when they started marketing their vehicles in the U.S. was the lack of cupholders. German automakers don’t prioritize cupholders, so they rarely consider utilizing them in the vehicles they’re exporting. Volkswagen corrected this problem with the Atlas but went a bit overboard. The SUV has a grand total of 17 cupholders, six of which are in the front. 

Nissan Pathfinder: 14 cupholders

The nice thing about the Nissan Pathfinder is that only 12 of the cupholders are always available. The remaining two are built into an armrest in the second row. The armrest is designed to fold down for those times when you need more space and fewer cupholders.

2019 Infiniti QX80: 13 cupholders

You’ll never be short of cupholders when you’re in a 2019 QX80’s Infiniti. The SUV also has four USB charging ports, a WI-FI hotspot, and a variety of driver’s assistance features that improve safety.

Toyota Tacoma: 13 cupholders

When it came to the Tacoma’s cupholders, Toyota didn’t cut corners. The vehicle can carry a maximum of five passengers yet it has 13 cupholders. The ratio of cupholders to people makes the Tacoma perfect for passengers who order two drinks when they visit the drive thru. 

Lincoln Navigator: 13 cupholders

You’ll find 13 cupholders in the Lincoln Navigator, but considering that it seats eight people, 13 cupholders doesn’t seem quite as dramatic as it does in the Tacoma.

We’ve come a long way considering that people once had to purchase cupholders from auto stores because they weren’t a standard feature. It’s nice to know that no matter how many beverages we drink during a road trip or commute, we’ll always have a place to put them.
