No car shopper wants to buy a gleaming new car and realize that it is a total headache. Unfortunately, it does happen to car buyers every day. However, if you know which brands make the most and least reliable vehicles on the market, you can avoid being saddled with a lemon. Here is a list of some of the brands in 2022 least likely to still have cars on the road after 200,000 miles.

  • Lincoln- 1.0 percent
  • Subaru- 0.8 percent
  • Acura- 0.7 percent
  • Dodge- 0.7 percent
  • Nissan- 0.7 percent

Lincoln is the winner of the losers on this list of car brands

Lincoln still has a reported 1.0 percent of vehicles on the road after 200,000 miles. Unfortunately, the plush American Ford affiliate is just below the industry average of 1.2 percent. However, iSeeCars quickly points out that not all Lincoln vehicles are created equal. For instance, the Lincoln Navigator and Navigator L are very popular, and owners report driving them into high mileage figures.

Are Subarus reliable long-term?

Subaru also underperforms on the list of long-term reliability. Subaru comes in well below Lincoln, with an estimated 0.8 percent of vehicles still on the road after 200,000 miles. However, Subaru does produce popular cars, crossovers, and SUVs. Furthermore, the automaker makes several vehicles with all-wheel drive (AWD) standard, a feature that owners in challenging climates will love.

Why is Acura not reliable?

Acura’s figures are upsetting given the relationship between the automaker and reliability titan Toyota. RepairPal gives Acura an above-average rating in long-term reliability, albeit with higher-than-average annual maintenance costs. However, the study posted by iSeeCars displays that only 0.7 percent of Acura vehicles are on the road after 200,000 miles.

Do Dodge cars last long?

Even with its most beloved of muscle cars, Dodge doesn’t fare well on this list. The storied brand finds itself in a three-way tie with Acura and Nissan. Consequently, Dodge only has reported longevity of 0.7 percent after 200,000 miles.

Are Nissan vehicles reliable?

Nissan is at the bottom of this list, with 0.7 percent of its vehicles on the road after 200,000 miles, according to iSeeCars. Much like Acura, Nissan has an above-average annual cost of ownership. However, despite the disheartening percentage and annual ownership figures, Nissan has a higher than average reliability from RepairPal

Are these brands the most unreliable cars on the market?

Nissan comes in dead last on this list, but that doesn’t make the marque the most unreliable. While Lincoln, Subaru, Acura, Dodge, and Nissan fall just below the industry average, many other manufacturers performed worse. Also, iSeeCars reports that many manufacturers have as few as 0.3 percent of cars still on the road after 200,000 miles.

Additionally, many factors dictate a vehicle’s longevity, and no two cars are the same. If you want to read more about reliable car brands, scroll down to the following article.
