Station wagons still seem to dot the driveways of America. Admittedly however, there are fewer of them when compared the to late 1970s and early 1980s. The mini-van did a lot to stifle the station wagon segment. Although, there are a few that remain that are pretty powerful. Here is a list of the five highest horsepower station wagons. 

2020 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Tourismo 

Mention the name Porsche and everybody immediately thinks sports cars. But, did you know that they also make wagons and SUVs too? That might be a bit surprising to some. But, they have built a wagon with the flavor of a stretched 911. Yes, it is a performance beast. As expected, it tops our list. Edmunds says, “Handles more like a sports car than a large sedan” and “Refined interior design with the latest technology.”

2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class AMG E 63 S Wagon

Although Porsche recently came to the wagon world, Mercedes has made wagons for decades. Not surprisingly, they have been able to create a very healthy wagon as a result. The AMG series badge should be warning enough that this ride is an intense powerhouse. Of the E-class, Edmunds says, “Exquisite cabin that sets new standards for design and comfort,” and of the AMG line specifically they say, “High-horsepower AMG models are fun to drive.”

2020 Jaguar XS F Sportbrake

Over the years, Jaguar has had an on-again, off-again affair with the wagon. Right now, it is on-again. They have created a very elegant XF Sportbrake variant because, you know, Jaguar and elegance go hand-in-hand. Edmunds says, “Comfortable to drive, yet still fun and engaging.”

2020 Volvo V90 Cross Country 

Volvo made a name for itself making safe wagons. Although they have taken risks in branching out and making hatchbacks and SUVs, they still make a pretty strong performance wagon.
