This car offers all the luxury expected from a Mercedes car and, according to U.S. News and World Report, it’s priced between $41,400 – $84,900. In addition, the EPA estimate shows this as one of the most fuel-efficient Mercedes-Benz sedans with a rating of 24 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. This small luxury car returns 28 mpg combined.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA250
The Mercedes-Benz CLA250 also gets power from a 2-liter engine with 4 cylinders and a 9-speed automatic transmission. This fuel-efficient sedan is priced between $36,650 – $54,800––according to U.S. News and World Report. It’s a luxury sedan on the more affordable side. Plus, it’s one of the most fuel-efficient Mercedes-Benz sedans returning an average of 28 mpg. This average comes from the EPA rating of 25 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.
The Mercedes-Benz A220
Next on the list for the most fuel-efficient Mercedes-Benz sedans is the Mercedes-Benz A220. Like the other two so far, this fuel-efficient sedan returns a combined fuel economy of 28 mpg. The 2-liter four is paired with an automatic 7-speed transmission and returns 24 mpg in the city and 45 mpg on the highway. According to U.S. News and World Report, this sedan is also priced low for its class with a starting price of $32,800.
The Mercedes-Benz A220 4-Matic
Due to the fact that this is the A220 with the addition of all-wheel drive, this fuel-efficient sedan starts a little higher. For $34,800, the Mercedes-Benz A220 4-Matic joins the rest of the most fuel-efficient Mercedes-Benz sedans. In fact, its fuel economy nearly matches that of its two-wheel-drive counterpart. With an identical EPA rating for the combined mileage and city mileage, the 4-Matic model drops just one mpg on the highway.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG A35 4-Matic
In addition to the other two A-Class models, the Mercedes Benz AMG A35 4-Matic jumps on the bandwagon as one of the most fuel-efficient Mercedes-Benz sedans. Due to its higher level of performance it’s a little more costly and a slightly less fuel-efficient sedan than the others. According to Car and Driver, the AMG A35 starts for $45,945. The Mercedes-Benz AMG A35 4-Matic returns an average of 27 mpg getting 24 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway.
Most fuel-efficient gas-powered sedans
Of all the cars in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, these are the most fuel-efficient gas-powered cars. But there is also the Mercedes-Benz S560e. This luxury plug-in hybrid returns a combined EPA estimate of 64 mpge. This is when the luxurious S560e uses the hybrid system. On premium gasoline only, the car returns a combined EPA estimate of 23 mpg. In addition to its high hybrid fuel economy numbers, the Mercedes-Benz S560e also has a high price starting over $100,000.
