Buying a new pickup truck is a costly investment. So why not buy one that’s predicted to last? Fortunately, finding a long-lasting pickup isn’t all that difficult. Because, according to iSee Cars, there are several pickup trucks predicted to last for more than 200,000-miles.

The Honda Ridgeline is the longest-lasting pickup available

The Honda Ridgeline has a lot going for it. But when it comes to this study from iSee Cars? It snagged the top spot on the list. According to iSee Cars, which analyzed over 15.8 million cars sold in 2019 to determine which models have the highest percentage of vehicles that have reached 200,000-miles, 3.0% of Honda Ridgeline models will make it to 200,000-miles. 

iSeeCars CEO Phong Ly explained, “The Honda Ridgeline’s unique unibody design gives it the function of a pickup truck with the handling and efficiency of a crossover SUV, while achieving the reliability ratings characteristic of the Honda brand.”

The Toyota Tundra snagged second place on the list

The Honda Ridgeline wasn’t the only truck to make iSee Car’s list of long-lasting pickups. According to iSee Cars’ study, the Toyota Tundra was able to snag the second spot on the list. But, with 2.9% of Tundra models sold in 2019 having surpassed 200,000-miles, that’s not all that surprising.

“Of all vehicle types, pickup trucks are the most likely to reach 200,000 miles with a 1.8 percent average for the segment, double the average for SUVs,” said Ly. “Pickup trucks are commonly used as work vehicles and are likely to accrue more miles than a typical passenger car while being more likely to undergo preventative maintenance and necessary repairs.”

The Toyota Tacoma followed closely behind its Toyota sibling

The Toyota Tacoma also landed a spot on iSee Car’s list. Per the study, an impressive 2.5% of Tacoma models made it to 200,000-miles. But according to Ly, that shouldn’t be all that surprising considering that the Toyota Tacoma is known for being  “indestructible,” which explains why it’s much more likely to reach the 200,000-mile mark. 

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 also made iSee Cars’ top five

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was also recognized by iSee Cars as a long-lasting pickup. Per the study, 2.0% of Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models will last for more than 200,000-miles. While that percentage is teetering on average, it’s still fairly impressive. 

What is interesting, however, is that while the Silverado ranked fourth on the list, iSee Cars says that the “mechanically identical” GMC Sierra 1500 ranked in sixth place, falling just below the segment average. “The Chevrolet Silverado is considered to be more of a working truck, while the GMC Sierra markets itself as being more luxurious,” explained Ly. “As a result, the Silverado may log more miles since it’s more likely to be used for work purposes and more heavy hauling.”

The Ford F-150 just made the list

And in the last spot on the list? The Ford F-150. While iSee Cars found that 1.9% of F-150 models sold in 2019 made it to 200,000-miles, that figure is just above the segment average of 1.8%. Fortunately, that hasn’t stopped the Ford F-150 from being one of the most popular and bestselling pickup trucks out there.
