There is a virtually endless supply of poorly made replicas of supercars kicking around the used marketplace. Many of them are based on the Pontiac Fiero or the Toyota MR2, presumably because they are mid-engine cars. A lot of them look really great from at least 10 feet away. This Ferrari Replica is an exception to that concept, for sure. In fact, it might be the outright worst replica car that ever existed.

I found this beautiful piece of automotive artwork in the recently ended auction section on Cars and Bids. I had to do a double-take. I’m certainly no stranger to the Pontiac Fiero kit car, but this thing is extraordinary in the worst kind of way. It turns out, though, that I’ve been missing out on this “magnificent” bit of automotive, uh, heaven?

This Ferrari Replica has a name. It’s “Fierri.” Presumably, it’s pronounced like the TV chef who famously had his real Lamborghini stolen. In an interview with a previous owner on Jay Leno’s Garage, it’s stated that the true origin of this car isn’t known in its entirety. It’s probably best if we keep it that way.

Despite its ferociously bad looks, its comical allure has made the Fierri a bit of a celebrity car. It won the coveted “Worst in Show” award at the Concours d’Lemons. If you’re not familiar, it’s basically an offshoot of the Concours d’Elegance for beaters, heaps, and god-awful replicas. So, that title makes perfect sense.

I’m positive that the fake V12 engine cover didn’t fool you. No screaming ear magic to power this bad boy; it’s got the original Pontiac 2.8-liter V6 pushing a truly invigorating 140 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque through an automatic transmission to the rear wheels. Think you can handle all of that?

Inside, the Fierri sports an aftermarket head unit, custom two-tone upholstery, and a gauge cluster from a Chevy Cavalier. You’ll certainly be saying, “Wow, this isn’t a Ferrari,” from the moment you sit inside!

The list of known flaws with this Ferrari Replica is woefully entertaining, too. Here are some of my favorites:

• Panel gap fitment issue on exterior (Duh)
• Cracked fog lights
• 2018 date code on tires
• Uneven suspension ride height
• Turn signals not functioning
• High beams not functioning
• Taillights do not illuminate when headlights are on
• The rear hatch does not work
• Missing door windows
• The seller states that the electronic door poppers work intermittently
• Loose gauge cluster
• Various wires exposed

Some of these problems solve themselves, though. For example, there is no need to worry about the electric door poppers not working. Why? Because there are no windows. You can crawl right through!

The fact that someone paid nearly $6,000 for this monstrosity is just further proof that folks out there have more money than sense. Sure, it’s hilarious. However, $6,000 is way beyond the scope of what seems reasonable for adopting this god-awful burden. Overall, I had the displeasure of seeing this thing, and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t suffering alone. Now, you’ve all had to see it, too.
