The home

Before you get too excited, the home doesn’t actually come with the racetrack. However, the private racetrack is in the backyard and you can drive on it for a membership fee, the cheapest of which includes a $3,700 deposit and monthly payments of $100. That small detail aside, the home is still a wonderful place for car enthusiasts to buy as it does come with a massive six-car garage. 

Not only that, but the garage features hydraulic lifts that will make working on your cars a breeze. The garage also includes all the racks that you’d need to store your equipment and parts. The floor is made of the exact same material as race deck floors are, so not only will you get an authentic race track garage, but it’ll be very easy to clean as well.

The house itself is a modern two-story house with about 1,800 square feet of space. It has two bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, which makes it a great home for a single person or a family to live in. In addition to that, its kitchen features some premium amenities such as granite countertops and a walk-in pantry.

The track

The racetrack that’s right in the backyard of this Texas home belongs to Motorsport Ranch, and you can use it privately if you’re a paid member of the club. There are two levels of membership and anyone can become a member and use the racetrack.

Each rental of the track is exclusive and lasts about half an hour, so there may be a line of members who want to drive on the track. However, since you’d live right next to it, you can easily be the first person in line and drive on the track practically whenever you want. 

There are actually two courses, a 1.3 mile one and a 1.7 mile one. The shorter track has 6 turns and many straight sections that’ll allow you to really push your car to its limits. The longer track has fewer straight sections, though they are longer than the shorter track’s straight sections. The longer track also has 11 turns and it’ll push your car’s overall performance and handling to its limits.

Is it worth it?

Having this track so close to your home will let you participate in not only club races against other paying members, but it’ll also allow you to test your cars out in a standard and controlled setting, much like what Top Gear does. Your reviews may not be as popular as the hit show’s are, but by testing your cars in the same location, you can very easily compare and contrast between different makes and models. 

Plus, if you ever need to blow off some steam or go on a joyride, you can do it from the safety of your backyard. Of course, renting the track out will cost you some money, but it could very well be worth the membership dues for a true gearhead.
