This Genesis SUV Is Way Too Underrated at $45,000
Genesis is still relatively unknown to many car shoppers. This might explain why the Genesis GV70 isn’t bringing in stellar sales numbers. Given all that this vehicle has to offer for a very cheap price, that’s a shame, and here’s why.
The 2024 GV70 isn’t breaking any records
The good news is that GoodCarBadCar reports that the Genesis GV70 is showing growth. The not-so-great news is that this is nothing to brag about.
In 2022, the GV70 sold 11,668 vehicles year-to-date. Things are looking up in 2023, as this number has increased to 16,615 units, which is 42.40% more. The percentage sounds like a huge number, but it’s not exactly major growth. It’s also not stomping out the competition.
The 2023 BMW X3 has sold 23,478 vehicles through June of this year. Another competitor, the Acura RDX, has sold 22,929 models year-to-date. Even though the competition is outselling the GV70, it appears that critics love it.
The 2024 GV70 ranks favorably compared to the competition
When compared to 17 other luxury compact SUVs, U.S. News ranked the 2023 GV70 as No. 1. It currently has a score of 8.8 out of 10 and a very favorable review.
U.S. News was highly pleased with the variety of engine options, the luxurious interior, the wide range of standard features, and the smooth ride and handling. There were two complaints against the GV70. The first was that the seats could offer better support on long rides. The second was that some controls were awkwardly placed.
Even though the competition is stiff, no one else can touch the GV70. The closest is the 2023 BMW X3, which received a score of 8.6. In third is the Maserati Grecale. It’s the Land Rover Discovery Sport that comes in 18th place, and its score is a mere 6.5.
The 2024 Genesis GV70’s price is incredibly low for the value
The 2024 Genesis GV70 has an MSRP of $44,900 at the lower range. It tops out at $70,185 when fully loaded. For this price, buyers get quite a bit for their money.
There is a gas and an EV option on the GV70. The gas-powered GV70 offers a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 300 hp or a 3.5-liter turbocharged engine with 375 hp. Both come with all-wheel drive as standard.
The exterior offers some unique design features, like the two-line LED headlights. It gives the GV70 a distinct look that no other automaker offers.
The base trim has an incredibly wide range of features like a 14.5-inch touchscreen, forward collision avoidance assist, heated front seats, wireless device charging, and blind spot monitoring.
There is also remote smart parking assist. It can help you get in and out of tight parking spaces you may otherwise avoid. It can park either perpendicularly or parallel.
One more unusual feature is the fingerprint authentication system that allows you to start up your car with a mere touch of your finger.
There are several special offers from Genesis, like the Hurricane Idalia Disaster Relief Program, Military Personnel Program, and the Mobility Equipment Program.
Finally, Genesis offers service valet. As part of your purchase, you’ll be able to have a Genesis valet pick up your vehicle for maintenance and bring it back once it’s done. For anyone who is always on the go and can’t seem to find time to get their car serviced, this is a fantastic perk.
Given all that Genesis offers on the 2024 GV70, $44,900 is almost too low of a price. If you can afford it, this is an SUV that you should take a look at.
