This Hennessey Camaro Will Exorcise The Dodge Demon

We love muscle cars, and even if you don’t want to admit it, you probably do too. Whether its classic muscle or a modern-day powerhouse, Americans just seem to love a true American-made muscle car. We love muscle cars, and even if you don’t want to admit it, you probably do too. Whether its classic muscle or a modern-day powerhouse, Americans just seem to love a true American-made muscle car. For some people, that could mean a Ford Mustang, but if you’re looking for something a little demonic, you might pick a Dodge Demon. While the Dodge Demon and Hellcat might be considered some of the best performing sports cars made on American soil, Hennessey Performance couldn’t quite be satisfied with that. That’s why the team at Hennessey created something designed to take down the Dodge Demon.

It’s called the Exorcist

The original plan was that Hennessey would build around 100 examples of the Dodge Camaro Exorcist. This terrifying car was named to challenge the line’s biggest competitors: the popular Dodge Demon. We can definitely appreciate the play on words here, and, as we’d expect from the prestigious aftermarket company, the Exorcist delivers what it promises. For around $120,000 you could own this supercar killer, and exorcise your local Demons.

The fastest Camaro

According to the team at Hennessey Performance, the Exorcist, built on a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, is the fastest Camaro ever put into production. It boasts a top speed of 217mph — not that your average driver needs to go anywhere near that fast. If you aren’t a fan of exotic sports cars, this monstrous 1000hp muscle car is a true supercar killer. It doesn’t just overtake the Dodge Demon, it does well to compete against a lot of McLarens and Porsches as well.

The Hennessey Performance team

Hitting up the quarter-mile — the most iconic racing style for drag racers everywhere — the Camaro Exorcist and Dodge Demon can go head to head. While we’d love to see this lineup in real life, several runs have already given us the answer we want; and yes, the Exorcist is in fast, faster. The Dodge Demon holds an impressive performance run at a 9.65-second quarter-mile time, but the Exorcist is just simply faster.

On the quarter mile, a professional driver has pushed the Exorcist faster than its biggest foe. The Demon might be fast, but the with the modifications provided by Hennessey Performance, the Exorcist Camaro pushed passed the quarter-mile finish line at 9.57 seconds.

When it comes to Hennessey Performance, chances are you won’t find yourself disappointed. While many of us already loved the performance and styling of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, we can’t help but enjoy the upgrades. This 1000hp monster is just one of the many examples of the work done by this company, and it does in fact, live up to it’s name, the Exorcist.
