We’re nearing the end of 2020 and odds are, you’ve got some pent-up stress going on. Fortunately, there are ways to say goodbye to that 2020 stress with the help of both some scrap cars and a battle tank. So, if you happen to live across the pond, you can head to Scrap Car Comparison’s Rage Yard. There, you’ll find a new form of ‘destruction therapy’ aimed at anyone who wants to relieve their 2020 stress in a pretty rage-fuelled fashion.

Here’s how the Rage Yard experience works

Scrap Car Comparison teamed up with Tanks-A-Lot in Northamptonshire to create this rather intriguing form of destruction therapy. The whole experience takes place outdoors where a scrap car emblazoned with the year 2020 awaits those looking to bid their 2020 stress farewell. To combat all that they’ve endured throughout this nightmare fueled year, customers can fire shots at the 2020 scrap cars. And if that’s not enough to destroy them? Customers can head to the cockpit of a souped-up Chieftan battle tank to obliterate the cars by crushing them beneath the 56 tonnes of armored metal.

Dan Gick, Managing Director at Scrap Car Comparison said of the Rage Yard, “The year 2020 has been one of the absolute worst in living memory, and we wanted to be able to offer customers a way to release all the stress that this year has bought into their lives. We thought as the year draws to a close, what better way to unleash all your 2020 angst than by taking it out on scrap cars!  Our Rage Yard experience provides you with the chance to (safely) shoot scrap cars, before trampling over them in a huge armoured tank.”

Will destruction therapy fix your 2020 stress?

The jury is still out on this one. A few short years ago, rage rooms became somewhat popular as a form of destruction therapy. These rooms allowed people to relieve their stress by smashing furniture, housewares, and electronics with bats, crowbars, and even sledgehammers. However, according to Christie Rizzo, an associate professor in the Department of Applied Psychology, as helpful as rage rooms and destruction therapy might be, you probably shouldn’t use them as your only form of therapy.

But alas, it is 2020 after all. And you’re probably more than ready to say goodbye to that 2020 stress. So why not visit the Rage Yard and take out a scrap car with a battle tank? Plus, according to Chartered Psychologist Dr. Samia Latif, “Certain individuals find that relieving tension in an overt physical manner is much more therapeutic and a form of stress relief that works better for them. This is known as ‘Destruction Therapy’ and it does allow people to relieve stress within a controlled environment.”

Latif added, “This year, some people have been overwhelmed with stress and tension and the type of destruction therapy offered by the Rage Yard experience may be an ideal way to release stress for those who have not benefited from other therapeutic strategies that have been recommended for them, and who are more inclined to need physical exertion at greater levels than the knitting needle or paintbrush!”

Is there anything like this 2020 stress relief in the states?

If you find yourself living in the US, rather than Northamptonshire, you may be asking yourself where you can go to relieve your 2020 stress. International travel is being heavily discouraged after all. Fortunately, the good old United States does have a few spots to visit if you’re looking for some well-earned 2020 stress relief.

A few years back, Extreme Sandbox scored an investment from Shark Tank’s Mark Cuban. According to D Magazine, Cuban’s investment has allowed the company to open its extreme adventure company in Texas. So, what does Extreme Sandbox let its customers do? While it won’t let you crush a scrap car with a battle tank, Extreme Sandbox does allow customers to operate some pretty heavy-duty equipment.

Say goodbye to your 2020 stress with the help of the Rage Yard

The first Rage Yard experience is available for £20.20. The bad news is that it has very limited availability. Fortunately, the company says that more sessions may become available if this battle tank form of destruction therapy proves popular. And if you would like to take part in a Rage Yard experience? Register via the Scrap Car Comparison website before December 31.
