There are many excellent options if you’re searching for a new midsize pickup truck. One of them is the latest version of the Honda Ridgeline. Although basically nothing has changed since the 2022 model year, the Ridgeline remains one of the best models in its class. Despite its high starting price, the 2023 Honda Ridgeline is one of the best choices if you’re searching for a drivable, luxurious, everyday pickup. There are three reasons a 2023 Honda Ridgeline is worth buying.

The 2023 Honda Ridgeline is comfortable

Like its predecessor, the 2023 Honda Ridgeline is exceptionally comfortable. According to Car and Driver, the ride is comfortable, and the cabin is spacious. Plenty of room inside the cabin is something not often found with pickup trucks of any size. That’s why it makes the Ridgeline such an outstanding choice. Moreover, materials throughout the cabin are high-quality, with very few cheap plastics compared to rivals. In addition, rear passengers have access to more space than any other midsize truck.

Unfortunately, the lack of cargo bed length provides some of that interior space. It’s only 5.3 feet long and provides 34 cubic feet of storage space. However, C/D says that’s in line with competitors’ short beds, so it isn’t ordinarily tiny. The high-quality ride makes up for whatever the Ridgeline lacks. Many experts say it has a smooth ride that doesn’t feel like a truck. Furthermore, it’s one of many reasons the Honda pickup is an excellent daily driver.

Versatile cargo bed and tailgate

Next, the 2023 Honda Ridgeline is worth buying because of its two-way tailgate and lockable in-bed trunk. Although the cargo bed itself isn’t massive, its under-bed storage compartment is relatively large. According to C/D, the lockable in-bed trunk is weather-tight and provides 7.3 cubic feet of extra storage capacity.

In addition, the two-way tailgate opens down or sideways. Tailgates like this are more common on full-size trucks, but many midsize or compact trucks have not adopted the technology. Honda is one of the only pickups in its class with a versatile cargo bed and tailgate like these.

Plenty of standard features and technology

Finally, the 2023 Honda Ridgeline has plenty of standard features and technology. First, starting with the engine, it’s a 3.5-liter V6 making 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. While unfortunate that there is only one engine, we love that it’s a powerful, serviceable pickup engine option. Next, even the Sport base model has plenty of features and technology. We’re not just talking about the 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, or truck bed lights.

Every Ridgeline has automatic tri-zone climate control, keyless entry/ignition, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a Class III trailer hitch with a seven-pin connector, and the Honda Sensing safety suite. Further, the suite features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and forward collision mitigation. Of course, the RTL and RTL-E trims add even more to the lineup for a few thousand dollars more. For example, a sunroof, a heated steering wheel, heated seats, blind-spot monitoring, wireless smartphone charging, and more.

A 2023 Honda Ridgeline is worth buying

In conclusion, the 2023 Honda Ridgeline is worth buying for a few reasons. Its comfortability, versatile cargo bed and tailgate, and standard features and technology are most significant. Even compared with other midsize trucks, the Ridgeline is a step ahead in these ways. While it may be expensive compared to many rivals, it comes well-equipped right from the start.
