Jeeps have always had a certain style, but I wouldn’t call them stylish. Certain graphics packages from the 70s might have been, but overall the style has always been 4×4 utility until this New Custom Jeep Wrangler from TNC. This thing has all the style and class of a Land Rover built for a Safari while maintaining Jeep Wrangler’s rawness. Man, this thing is killer. 

What is the coolest custom Jeep Wrangler?

This one is. I have owned jeeps and seen a billion custom ones and none that have ever hit that drool button quite like the kit that the folks at True North Collections have. This is a light overlanding kit that isn’t meant to be the toughest thing crossing the desert, but it just might be the prettiest. 

The head of TNC is a fella by the name of Shane Russeck. This Wrangler kit was his baby born from his other job as a professional wildlife photographer. His love of classic 4×4 trucks eventually turned into a sustainable business on its own, and now we have TNC. 

The fab house will regularly restomod old square-bodied 4×4 GM trucks into badass overlanding and adventure vehicles. However, now TNC is adding a modern road dog to its lineup with the TNC edition Jeep Wrangler. 

What makes the TNC Wrangler special? 

TNC only uses factory powerplants, but limits builds to only the 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar or the new 3.0-liter turbodiesel. According to MotorTrend, the company will most likely include the big V8 once available. 

The TNC Wranglers are clearly borrowing from the Land Rover Handbook on being awesome. Likely the first thing you’ll notice is the Safari hardtop, which I would never have thought could look so good on a Jeep, but, boy does it ever. Atop the killer roof is the tough and handy roof rack, ladder, and tethered hood supports. 

What Jeep build would be complete without beefy front and rear bumpers? The TNC has beefy but still classy bumpers that push the Land Rover-safari look while keeping the Jeep through-line. The front bumper is also home to an integrated winch system that lives inside away from the elements. Other bodywork and accessories include rock slide step-ups, Hella auxiliary lights, tow hooks, and fat fender flares.

The added lift kit gives plenty of ground clearance and extra room for some beefier tiers. The coolest part is the white steelie wheels that TNC slaps on here. This really drives home the classiness of the old Land Rovers.

The interior has a couple of new bits too

TNC dresses the inside with a few custom touches to fully round out the build. There are edition-specific leather seats and siding, as well as special badging. To encourage your adventure travel, TNC also includes a matching leather duffle bag with each Jeep. Tell me that’s not some classy stuff. TNC has yet to reveal pricing for this aftermarket job, but the trucks are available in early February, so we shouldn’t have to wait long to find out pricing. 

There are more Jeep outfitters than there are grains of sand on the beach; at least it feels like that at times. Unlike so many, TNC isn’t trying to overcompensate on how “manly” or “tough” they are or vice versa for the customer. These aren’t for the people trying to play like they have a tough jeep as they mall crawl. No, these Wranglers are for people who know who they are and know what they want; and what they want happens to be classy as hell.
