The 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed brought a great weekend of racing to the world. With all sorts of celebrities, car debuts, and broken records, it was undoubtedly one for the history books. However, as with any race, there has to be a winner! So, here are the top 10 fastest cars at the 2022 Festival of Speed!

10: Dodge Viper GTS-R – 48.96 seconds

The Dodge Viper GTS-R is a non-road-going version of the legendary Dodge Viper. It’s a race car that competes worldwide in legendary events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, 24 Hours of Daytona, and the FIA GT Championship racing series.

The V10 makes an almost soothing yet sinister hum in the video posted to the Goodwood Road and Racing Youtube channel as it works its way up the hill for a time of 48.96 seconds.

9: First Corner FC1X – 47.94 seconds

The FC1X is an electric rallycross car. So, seeing it do well on this course with tight corners and open straights is not surprising.

Its all-wheel drive system and EV electric torque helped it rip up the hill in just 47.94 seconds.

8: H24 Green GT – 47.52 seconds

The Green GT is a hydrogen/electric race car that focuses on renewable resources.

As is a recurring theme on this year’s Top 10 fastest Festival of Speed runs this year, its electric power truly aided in its ability to sprint up the hill in a timely manner. In this case, the Green GT managed just 47.52 seconds.

7: Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – 47.44 seconds

It’s hard to beat a car that has decades of racing heritage like the track-only Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. EVs are certainly fast, but the legendary screaming flat-six Porsche won’t go down without a fight.

It managed a time of 47.44 seconds!

6: Jaguar XJR-12D – 47.32 seconds

Another holdout on the piston engine is this iconic V12-powered Jaguar XJR-12D race car.
It makes an absolutely fantastic scream as it works its way up the hill in just 47.32 seconds.

5: Ford Pro Electric Supervan – 46.58 seconds

There are a couple of cars that made the top 10 fastest cars list for the 2022 Goodwood event that are a bit shocking (no pun intended). This is certainly one of them!

The Ford Pro Electric Supervan is an all-electric van built with speed in mind. That worked out just fine, too, as this van managed to sprint up the hill in 46.58 seconds.

Undoubtedly, the late, great Sabine Schmitz would be proud!

4: Subaru GL Family Huckster – 46.20 seconds

This wild station wagon rally car with insane active aero is truly something to behold. Each time the brakes are applied, four body panels lift up to add extra brake force. Of course, while the car is built for speed, having Travis Pastrana behind the wheel certainly helps get the most out of it.

This almighty station wagon made the Goodwood spring in just 46.20 seconds.

3: March 728 – 45.64 seconds

The March 728 is an open-wheel race car that joins the pack of purpose-built racers on the top 10 fastest cars list for Goodwood’s 2022 event.

It makes an oh-so-pleasant scream as it works its way up the hill in just 45.64 seconds.

2: Porsche 718 GT4 e-Performance – 45.50 seconds

It’s no secret that Porsche is taking its iconic 718 lineup of vehicles to an all-electric drivetrain in the near future. Though that makes a lot of Porsche enthusiasts a bit sad, they can at least take solace in the fact that it’s one of the fastest cars up the hill at Goodwood.

It comes in second place overall with a time of 45.50 seconds. It is remarkably far behind first place, though.

1: McMurty Speirling – 39.08 seconds

The McMurty Speirling is a crazy-unique electric vehicle using banned “fan car” technology to create absurd amounts of grip and downforce. As a result, it not only took first place in the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed but also broke a 23-year-standing track record held by an actual F1 car.
It managed to sprint up the hill in an eye-watering time of just 39.08 seconds.

Overall, it seems that the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed is an excellent representation of motorsports and the automotive industry as a whole. The future is turning electric, but good, old-fashioned internal combustion engines aren’t going down without a fight!
