Tall people need more than good looks and excellent performance when looking for a car purchase that suits them the best. For long-term comfort, interior space will be essential. According to Car and Driver, some of the worst vehicles a tall person could get are the Mazda MX-5 Miata, Porsche 911, and Toyota Tacoma due to the driver’s less than stellar head and legroom.

Newer cars do have more interior space these days, but the prices are high for most people. If you’re on a tight budget and need room to accommodate your height, there are still used vehicles out there that offer a level of space and comfort. Kelley Blue Book recognizes the struggles that tall drivers face and came up with a list that shows tall drivers what pre-owned cars they can buy.

1. Cadillac CT6 – 2016 to 2020 models

This large sedan can usually be found for an affordable price on the used market. It’s also made on American soil and comes with many standard features, but you could find some other niceties with a used one. When it comes to headroom, the Cadillac CT6 has approximately 40.6 inches of front headroom. The legroom is even better at 46.4 inches.

2. Kia Optima – 2015 to 2020 models

This is another sedan in the midsize segment that comes with lots of standard features. The interior has a decent amount of room for those who happen to be tall. Headroom falls around the 39.8 inches range. The legroom is also impressive, with 45.5 inches for stretching out your feet and knees.

3. Scion xB – 2013 to 2015 models

This vehicle provides plenty of room for most tall drivers and passengers. The headroom for the driver sits at 40 inches of space. The legroom offers 40.7, which is excellent for those who have longer legs. Besides interior space, you also get decent fuel economy and reliability. It was discontinued in 2016, but there are still used models out there.

4. Chevrolet Impala – 2017 to 2020 models

The Chevy Impala has been around for a long time, since the 50s to be exact. Since then, it’s seen tons of changes, but the best models for tall people fall in the 2017 to 2020 range. These sedans offer 39.9 inches of headroom and 45.8 inches of legroom, which is plenty for a tall driver to travel in comfort.

5. Hyundai Equus – 2015 to 2016 models

The Equus is a larger-sized sedan that comes with plenty of luxury features and standard equipment. As far as interior room, you’d be impressed by the 38.7 inches of headroom and 45.1 inches of legroom. It was discontinued after the 2016 model, but you can still find models from 2011 until the last year it was produced.

While it might be frustrating to find something to accommodate your height, the used market offers a decent selection of the best vehicles to help you find comfort when going for a drive, whether it’s a short one or a lengthy journey.
