1. The Buick Enclave

Surprisingly, the most considered luxury vehicle of 2022 is the Buick Enclave SUV. Yes, you heard that right, a Buick is the most-shopped luxury SUV of 2022 according to Cox Automotive.

The Buick Enclave is a luxury midsize SUV that recently had a facelift for the 2022 model year. Initially, the Enclave was a full-size SUV for the 2008 model year. In fact, it was one of the largest full-size crossover SUVs you could own at the time.

Today, much of the hype surrounding the Buick Enclave is found in its affordability for a luxury car, starting at around $42,800. For a large, luxurious crossover SUV, it is tough not to consider the Enclave when it offers such a bargain compared to its competition.

2. The Cadillac Escalade

The Cadillac Escalade is no stranger to the top of this list, where it held the top position for the previous three quarters before the Buick Enclave took its place. The Escalade seems to get better and better every year.

With how large and luxurious the Escalade is today, it is crazy to think that this SUV started as a rebadged GMC Yukon in 1999. Today, the Escalade is a superb vehicle with a huge amount of seating capacity that grew up from its gaudy beginnings to become a true symbol of mature luxury.

3. The Acura MDX

The Acura MDX is marketed as an upscale, sporty midsize SUV that takes the typical SUV family hauler and adds a bit of class and performance to the mix. Standard features include a 12.3-inch infotainment system, wireless smartphone connectivity and charging, and an optional 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.

Even though this is a midsize SUV, it can still fit seven passengers inside its three rows of seats. Take these features and combine them with the MDX’s available 355 horsepower turbo V6 engine, and you have a midsize SUV that is incredibly impressive.

4. The Lexus RX

Lexus experienced a 20% drop in sales from 2021 to 2022, but that didn’t stop this luxury giant from earning a spot as one of the most considered luxury vehicles.

Lexus as a brand sold 258,434 units in 2022, with most of those coming from the RX. Motor1 reports that the RX SUV is the best-selling luxury car in America with 96,041 units sold in 2022 spanning both gas and hybrid RX models. The RX ended up being the fourth most considered luxury SUV of 2022.

5. The BMW 3 Series

BMW has earned a spot for the fourth consecutive quarter in a row with 22% of all luxury vehicle shoppers considering a BMW for their next vehicle. The BMW 3 series sedan was the most considered vehicle in BMW’s lineup for 2022 and one of the most affordable as well.

The BMW 3 Series starts at $42,300. For that reasonable price, consumers can find themselves behind the wheel of a vehicle that is a true BMW sports sedan.
