Electric pickup trucks are becoming so popular that nearly every automaker has one either coming out or in the works. A few years ago, most people may have found this laughable; electric pickup trucks? Popular? Yet they are, as evidenced by models like the 2022 Ford Lightning, which is in such demand that Ford can’t even come close to producing enough of them. With so many more trucks on the horizon, which are the best? These are the top electric trucks coming out in 2022 (or soon after).

The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is over reserved, but fantastic

The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is the electric version of the Ford F-150, and if anyone had a doubt about how an electric pickup truck would fare, the Lightnings reservations should put those to rest. Rumor has it that Ford only plans on making 15,000 2022 Ford Lightnings, yet more than 200,000 people have placed reservations for the 2022 Lightning.

The 2022 Ford Lightning has an engine that can make up to 426 hp and has all-wheel drive. It also gets up to 230 miles of range on a single charge. The 2022 Ford Lightning price starts at $39,974.

The Chevy Silverado EV is an electric version of a favorite

The Chevrolet Silverado EV is coming in 2022, according to Kelley Blue Book. It’s set to be part of Chevy’s GM’s Ultium battery pack fleet of vehicles. At first the Chevy Silverado EV will be designed as work trucks, but Kelley Blue Book thinks that higher trim levels will come afterward for the regular pickup truck consumer. The Silverado EV may have range up to 400 miles and should arrive on the electric vehicle scene in 2023 to 2024.

The 2022 Rivian R1T is an electric pickup truck from a brand new automaker

The 2022 Rivian R1T is making waves in the automotive world by being unlike anything else on the market. It will be the first official electric pickup truck in the United States, and it combines the ruggedness of a pickup truck with the luxury of a high-end vehicle. The 2022 Rivian R1T can hold up to five passengers and has an incredibly powerful engine. The R1T engine can make up to 800 hp and 900 lb-ft of torque.

As you might imagine, the 2022 Rivian R1T is fast with an engine like that. It can go from 0 to 60 in just 3 seconds. It can even tow up to 11,000 pounds. Of course, a pickup truck like this doesn’t come cheaply. The 2022 Rivian R1T starts at $67,500.

The 2022 Tesla Cybertruck is perhaps the most anticipated electric pickup truck

The Tesla Cybertruck is a unique electric pickup truck. It doesn’t look like a traditional truck. It doesn’t look like a spaceship. The Tesla Cybertruck sort of blends both of those ideas to create a spaceship-pickup truck that can go up to 500 miles on a single charge. The Cybertruck is even faster than the 2022 Rivian R1T, though just. It can go from 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds and tow up to 14,000 pounds. The Tesla Cybertruck’s price starts at $39,900.

These are some of the best electric pickup trucks coming out in 2022 and beyond, but they aren’t the only ones. Car makers across the automotive world are designing and producing electric trucks as the demand for electric vehicles continues to grow. There should soon be a wide range of the best electric pickup trucks to choose from.
