Riding a motorcycle is a dangerous business. You’ve got distracted drivers, obstacles, and none of the protections afforded by a car, truck, or SUV. However, life for motorcycle riders is even more difficult when horrible people harass them, like these two stalkers in a tow truck.

It’s never okay to follow someone home– but these guys thought it was fine to stalk a couple of young motorcycle riders in their tow truck

Driving in Houston is tricky enough without harassment by a couple of jokers in a tow truck. After all, Texas boasts six of the nation’s “Top 25 Cities With The Worst Drivers,” per Forbes Advisor. I’m unsurprised; I lived in San Antonio and Austin, the No. 12 and 24 offenders.

However, life for motorcycle riders becomes that much harder when harassed. Unfortunately, that was the case for two young motorcycle riders in Houston. In a social media post, the two riders on sportbikes are riding on an access road when men in a tow truck start honking at them and asking one of them to “lift up their visor so [he] can look at them.”

The behavior, while objectionable, doesn’t become a safety concern until the tow truck occupants apparently follow the riders back to their apartment complex and through the complex’s gate. One of the riders, visibly disturbed by the behavior, dropped their bike and shouted at the truck. Fortunately, the truck’s occupants seemed embarrassed and left the scene.

But it’s not just creepy and irritating, it’s illegal. Unsurprisingly, deliberately following someone in your vehicle is stalking. According to the Texas Criminal Defense Group, a conviction of a stalking charge can be a felony. If convicted, a first-offense stalker faces a fine of up to $10,000 and prison time of up to 10 years.

Make no mention of the fact that Texas is an open-carry state and many motorcycle riders have concealed carry permits. In short, following someone home isn’t just sad and desperate, it’s dangerous.

Harassment is never okay. If you suspect that you’re being followed by malicious actors, notify the authorities immediately. These riders led the stalkers to what appears to be an apartment complex. Never lead a stalker to your home. Stay safe. Check out the full video of the event below!
