Toyota, GMC, and Chevrolet make up the four SUVs on this list of 200,000+ mile vehicles. If you are in the market for a used Toyota Land Cruiser or GMC Yukon XL, have no fear that it will last you a long time.

Forbes recently did an article demonstrating that many vehicles can last more than 200,000 miles. The data came from iSeeCars sales figures from 2020. More than 11.8 million used cars traded hands last year. The SUVs on this list registered 200,000 miles or more at the sale time.

The Toyota Land Cruiser SUV is one of the most likely SUVs to hit 200,000 miles

The Toyota Land Cruiser made up a whopping 16.3% of this list. The Land Cruiser is like the mileage gift that keeps on giving. It has room for the entire family, a few coolers, your dogs, and can go through the mud with ease. You can even set up a tent on or in it if you want.

This SUV making the list is not shocking. If you see one of these that has been well-maintained and has the right mileage, you won’t regret buying it.

Toyota 4Runner SUVs will last over 200,000 miles

The Toyota 4Runner isn’t a shock either. Making up 4.1% of vehicles on this list, the 4Runner is also a solid SUV. Unlike the Land Cruiser, the 4Runner doesn’t always come with four-wheel drive. Be sure to check if the one you are looking at does.

Check for rust and a front-end vibration when you do the test drive. Be sure to look at the suspension if you find one over 150,000 miles. This might need to be replaced shortly after 200,000 miles depending on the condition.

Most vehicles would benefit from a new suspension system after that long. New fluids, suspension, and a few other odds and ends will increase the SUV’s longevity.

Chevrolet Tahoe

The Chevrolet Tahoe is a nice pick if you are trying to avoid one of the Toyota options. The 2020 Tahoe even gets better gas mileage than the 4Runner. At 3.6%, the Taho came in just under the 4Runner.

The Tahoe is definitely a bigger SUV than the 4Runner. It only has V8 engine options, but it has plenty of power if you need it. Make sure to change your oil!

GMC Yukon XL with 200,000+ miles

The GMC Yukon XL is extra-large like the name suggests. The XL is more expensive than the Tahoe, but it is also bigger. Both full-size SUVs will get you 4×4 and 335 hp. The Yukon XL also accounted for 3.6% of the vehicles sold with over 200,000 miles.

Shockingly, the Tahoe gets an extra seat over the eight provided by the XL. If you brand loyal to either of these SUVs, either one should last you a long time.

In recent years, the amount of Yukon’s on the road over 200k has gone up. Perhaps the reliability and ease of maintaining big SUVs has gone up, too.
