The 2020 Camry has both 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engine options. The 4-cylinder Camry made the list for Edmunds’ Best Gas Mileage Cars for 2020.
MotorTrend reports all-wheel drive is now an option for the Toyota Camry for $1,400––a new feature for 2020. The Toyota Camry tops out in the XLE and XSE trims equipped with the 301 horsepower V6 engine. These models start at $34,580 and $35,130 respectively.
The Dodge Charger is known for its range-topping trims with robust V8 options that boast ludicrous power. The 2020 Charger Scat Pack Wide Body option features a 285 horsepower V8 engine and starts at $46,495, according to Edmunds. Plus, there’s the SRT Hellcat Wide Body trim with its obviously-necessary 707 horsepower V8 for a modest $69,995.
Maybe you feel your family doesn’t need the Scat Pack or the Hellcat Charger. If so, Car and Driver notes that the 292 horsepower V6 still packs heat. The 2020 Dodge Charger starts for under 30 grand and even in the base model is fun to drive with a healthy list of standard amenities.
The 2020 Toyota Camry TRD
The Toyota Camry TRD is an exciting new edition to the current Camry generation. Car and Driver says today’s generation is the “best it’s ever been,” in fact. The TRD option for the 2020 Camry comes standard with the 301 horsepower V6 engine. If you want to drive away in a 2020 Toyota Camry TRD it’ll cost at least $31,170, according to Edmunds.
TRD is an acronym for Toyota Racing Development, in case you’re new to the party. The TRD team gave the Camry specialized suspension components. Plus, you can opt for stickier summer performance tires which won’t add anything to the final cost. However, the 2020 Camry TRD misses the mark a bit in terms of some important practical features.

The 2020 Dodge Charger’s SXT model is the Charger lineup’s entry level configuration, according to Edmunds. One of its defining features––and its primary edge over the Toyota Camry TRD––is the AWD availability we see as an option on the Charger SXT model. It’s guzzles more gas than the Camry, but those who opt for the Charger seldom seem concerned.
The 292 horsepower V6 engine is a little behind the Camry TRD’s V6 horsepower output, but its 260 pound-feet of torque (a bit more with all-wheel drive) does just fine. Its price point is nearly identical to the TRD trim Camry at $31,390. Plus, Car and Driver’s review notes that the 2020 Charger SXT family sedan “was remarkably balanced when cornering.”
