There are a few different tiny hybrid vehicles to consider. You don’t have to fight for a Ford Maverick Hybrid when options like the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid are available. See how the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid compares. 

2024 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid vs. 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid 

The 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid is popular as a city option because it’s fuel-efficient, affordable, and practical. It has a functional truck bed that can carry 4×8 sheets of plywood. 

But the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid has similar benefits as a covenant, fuel-efficient option. It makes up for the lack of a truck bed with extra passenger and cargo space. 

Plus, the Corolla Cross Hybrid has standard AWD, while the Maverick Hybrid can’t be paired with AWD. The Maverick Hybrid can tow up to 2,000 lbs and the Corolla Cross Hybrid can tow up to 1,500 lbs. 

The Corolla Cross Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 45 mpg in the city and up to 38 mpg on the highway. 

The Maverick Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 42 mpg in the city and up to 33 mpg on the highway.

While the 2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid has an MSRP of $28,200 the Maverick Hybrid starts at $25,315. Even though the Maverick has a lower starting cost, it’s selling for above MSRP and may be harder to get. 

Production constraints fail to meet demand, so you might be able to get a Corolla Cross Hybrid faster. The Ford Maverick Hybrid is the hardest model to get, followed by the Maverick Tremor. 

The Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid pairs a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with three electric motors to crank out 196 hp and 139 lb-ft of torque. 

With the MAverick Hybrid, you get a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor for 191 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque. 

While the Corolla Cross Hbrid accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.4 seconds, the Maverick Hybrid gets there in about 7.7 seconds. So, the Corolla Cross Hybrid could be sportier. 

The Corolla Cross Hybrid has AWD and is more fuel-efficient than the Maverick. It could also be sportier, found at a cheaper price, and easier to get.
