How to get a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander with a Nintendo Switch
When the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander goes on sale in September 2023, 500 lucky drivers will receive a Nintendo Switch OLED model and a copy of Mario Kart 8 for the entire family to enjoy.
This is a genius move because Nintendo and car trips have always gone together. Kids have used some Gameboy or handheld Nintendo devices to entertain themselves during road trips for decades.
Now the rand Toyota Grand Highlander is collaborating with the most advanced Switch model available! Lizza Materazzo, group vice president of Toyota Marketing, shared that this is an amazing collaboration between Toyota and Nintendo.
The Grand Highlander and Nintendo Switch are the ultimate duo for families and trips. The OLED model has a slightly larger 7-inch screen than the regular model, with a vibrant and crisp resolution.
You can use the device on TV with detachable Joy-Con controllers for immediate fun right out of the box. You can also use it as a handheld device for some peaceful relaxation. It is fun on the go. Games can be played whenever the Grand highlander goes.
To celebrate the collaboration, a Switch-themed Grand highlander is on display at the Chicago Auto Show from February 9 – 19. It has a custom speaker system, screens, and a Switch installed to display the Grand Highlander’s size and abilities.
What is the 2024 Grand Highlander?
The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is like the Toyota Highlander, but it’s larger with more passenger and cargo space. Toyota shared that it features a third row with enough space for adults.
Plus, the cabin is outfitted with well-planned cubbies and storage areas. You can access up to 98 cubic feet of cargo room with the third-row seats folded down. About seven carry-on suitcases can fit behind the third row too.
The center console has a wireless phone charger, USB ports, and three cupholders. Also, each row has additional USB ports and cupholders to keep everyone’s devices charged with adequate hydration. If you need more space, the Grand Highlander can tow up to 5,000 lbs. This is the same amount that the regular Highlander can tow.
What engines come with the Grand Highlander?
The official specs for each 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander engine haven’t been released yet. But three options may provide enough speed to make it feel like you’re on a Mario Kart track.
With the standard gas-powered 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, you can expect 265 hp. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine is paired with two electric motors to generate 245 hp. It could get up to 34 mpg.
The Grand Highlander’s Max Hybrid Powertrain cranks out 362 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. It helps the Toyota Grand Highlander accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds. This powertrain option has standard all-wheel drive. The other engines are available with FWD or AWD.
We’re still waiting to learn more about the Grand Highlander, but it’s already in an excellent position to dominate as the ultimate family SUV. It has more power, more space, and might come with a Nintendo Switch!
