Car companies are now hiding a ton of cool Easter eggs in their new vehicles. Toyota surprised us with one on its new 2023 Sequoia SUV. Tesla started the trend by adding hidden features and graphics and modes to its cars like Santa Mode and a whoopie cushion, and now a lot of companies are taking the time to show they care by hiding little messages. Ram TRX, for example, takes aim at the Ford Raptor with hidden graphics in the console that show a T-rex is 5 times bigger than a velociraptor. Ford hid a scannable QR code in the Raptor. Jeep has been hiding Big Foot decals on the Wrangler and tiny geckos on the Compass. The 2023 Toyota Sequoia easter eggs are fun, if you know where to look. Car reviewer Doug DeMuro was the first to decode it

YouTube car reviewer Doug DeMuro loves to find the cool little quirks and features in cars. He’ll point out little details that the rest of us would miss. In true DeMuro style, he noticed that there are some tiny dots and dashes on the bottom corner of the windshield. They’re morse code. DeMuro translated it to say: “BADASS TRUCKS.” Find it at 5:10 in the video.

He also points out the Michigan state outline Easter egg, where the Sequoia was designed, and the Texas state outline under the hood, where the Sequoias are built. They’re made in Toyota’s San Antonio factory which also builds the Toyota Tundra. The 2022 Tundra has the same Easter eggs.

The GMC Hummer is full of Easter Eggs. But not many expected Toyota easter eggs in the new Sequoia.

A lot has been made of the GMC Hummer EV Easter eggs (or little surprises) plastered all over the inside. The speakers have the Moon’s Sea of Tranquility pattern. The “H” logo is embossed on everything. The American flag is prominent if you know where to look in the Hummer. And, a lot has been made of the Easter eggs you can find on the infotainment screen, such as the Tesla Cybertuck being used as a wheel chock, and the “Meteor Mode,” which shows a T-Rex dinosaur, or TRX, getting hit with a meteor.

The 2023 Sequoia is still so new, we may find more

Of course, Toyota hasn’t released a list of all of the Easter eggs in the 2023 Sequoia. But, it has released a lot about everything else in the new-for-2023 SUV. After 15 years, the Toyota Sequoia is finally seeing an upgrade for 2023. The 2023 Sequoia is big, based on a truck, has some off-road ability, and has three rows of seating. It’s should start at $52,000.

The Toyota i-FORCE MAX is Toyota’s new hybrid drivetrain and one major reason to buy a 2023 Toyota Sequoia. The hybrid first showed up on the newly redesigned Tundra in 2022. It makes 437 horsepower and 537 lb.-ft of torque. In the new Tundra, the system gets 18 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway, and although the EPA hasn’t rated the 2023 Toyota Sequoia yet, we expect similar numbers. The Sequoia can even tow up to 9,500 pounds.
