2 popular Toyota hybrid SUVs have the worst reliability ratings
For the most part, Toyota has an excellent reputation for reliability. However, one bad apple can ruin the bunch. Two Toyota hybrid SUVs might need a closer look because they aren’t representing like the rest.
Two Toyota hybrid SUVs have low reliability ratings
According to iSeeCars, two of the most popular Toyota hybrid SUVs have concerning reliability scores. But this doesn’t apply to every hybrid model.
The two with lower scores are the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and the Toyota Prius Prime. These are incredibly fuel-efficient vehicles that could be more dependable.
iSeeCars have the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid a reliability score of 6.2 out of 10. The Toyota Prius Prime earned a 5.7.
On the other end of the spectrum, the Toyota Sienna Hybrid has an 8.7, the Camry Hybrid got an 8.9, the Venza Hybrid earned an 8.9, the Highlander Hybrid got a 9.5, and Sequoia and Tundra Hybrids got a perfect 10.
iSeeCars analyzes over 12 million cars to determine reliability ratings and which vehicles are the most likely to last 200,000 miles. Not all Toyota hybrid SUVs are created equally.
The Prius Prime has an average lifespan of 13.6 years and 146.196 miles. It has a 15.4% chance of surpassing 200,000 miles. However, the Prius Prime gets an EPA-estimated 52 mpg in the city and up to 51 mpg on the highway.
You can expect an average RAV4 Hybrid to last about 12.2 years or 148,119 miles. It has a 17.7% chance of reaching 200,000 miles. It gets an EPA-estimated 41 mpg in the city and up to 38 mpg on the highway.
Other Toyota hybrid SUVs might last a lot longer but don’t have the same fuel economy. The Sequoia Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 21 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. Also, the Highlander Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 37 mpg in the city and up to 34 mpg in the city.
Going with a larger, more reliable Toyota hybrid might be better than opting for the most fuel-efficient models.
