Toyota Party: 2024 GR Supra and GR86 TRUENO Celebrate 45 Years of Supra
Can you believe the Toyota Supra is celebrating 45 years on the market? Toyota Gazoo Racing and the automaker have announced a new 2024 GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition in the pipeline and a 2024 GR86 TRUENO Edition with a throwback look. If that wasn’t enough, a 2024 GR Corolla Circuit Edition is also in the works. No overnight parts from Japan are needed; these limited-edition cars are ready for a joyride off the production line.
What does the 2024 Toyota GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition get?
According to Toyota, the 2024 GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition pays tribute to the early MkIV Supra. After more than 40 years on the market, the newest version of the Supra will be one to hold on to. Toyota only plans to make 900 of the Anniversary Edition, offered in Mikan Blast orange or Absolute Zero white. That means only 450 of each color will roll off the production line.
Drivers can choose from a manual and automatic transmission, but both will get the B58 inline-six 3.0L turbo engine. This is the one that comes on all 3.0 Supras, getting 382 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque.
Inspired by some of the 1990s Supras, the 2024 GR has a large, adjustable rear spoiler. Drivers can raise the spoiler more than three inches above the rear decklid. It also gets matte-black finished 19-inch aluminum wheels and painted brake calipers. Toyota says the 2024 GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition will hit dealerships this fall.
The 2024 GR86 TRUENO Edition only gets 860 units
Celebrating 40 years of the AE86, the 2024 GR86 TRUENO Edition is also getting a limited run alongside the 2024 GR Supra. With only 860 units available, this TRUENO Edition is also stacked with new features. The GR86 coupe has a two-tone look, available in either Halo and black or Track bRed and black. SACHS Dampers and Brembo Brakes are standard on this edition, but this can be added as a package with other GR86 models.
This LE option is built on the Premium trim level and has manual and transmission options. Other appearance changes include a black-wrapped hood, side panel graphics, and a painted spoiler. Black metallic 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels are only available on the 2024 GR86 TRUENO Edition.
The 2024 GR86 weighs only 2,811 pounds for the manual and 2,851 for the automatic. Toyota opted for an aluminum hood, fenders, and roof panel also keep the weight down. The N/A 2.4L FA-24 engine gets 228 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. Toyota says a tune helps peak torque arrive at 3,700 RPM. The zero to 60 mph time is 6.1 seconds for the manual and 6.6 seconds for the automatic. Toyota says the 2024 GR86 TRUENO should hit dealerships this winter.
Check out the 2024 GR Corolla Circuit Edition in Blue Flame
Toyota didn’t stop there, either. The 2024 GR Corolla Circuit Edition will hit the market along with the 2024 GR Supra and GR86. This Circuit Edition will be available in the Blue Flame color seen above and another color called Ice Cap. Black forged aluminum 18-inch BBS wheels add to the already lightweight sedan.
The 2024 GR Corolla Circuit Edition gets the turbo G16E-GTS engine, a 1.6L three-cylinder. That delivers 300 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque at 3,000- 5,500 rpm. Like the other GR Corollas, a rev-matching six-speed manual transmission make life a little more interesting. This version should be available in winter along with the GR86.
The 2024 GR Supra price and other information will be closer to production than the 2024 GR86 TRUENO and Corolla Circuit Edition. With such limited numbers for each Toyota Gazoo Racing model, these likely won’t be available for order longer than a few days.
