This isn’t just a stereotype either, and it’s something that car experts agree on after analyzing the data about car reliability. It’s not surprising then that Toyota dominates in terms of the most reliable large SUVs on the market.

Here’s a look at some of the most reliable large SUVs right now not from Toyota

iSeeCars recently created a list of the most reliable SUVs on the market. The site determined the reliability of cars with a simple method. It looked at over 1.8 million cars, and then it analyzed that data to find the cars that were most likely to last over 200,000 miles. In terms of large SUVs, there are many good options to choose from.

The Nissan Armada came in seventh place and received a reliability rating of 8.5 out of 10. A brand-new Armada starts at about $59,000, and that makes it one of the cheapest options in the segment. The GMC Yukon and its XL version came in sixth place with a reliability rating of 8.7 out of 10. A brand-new Yukon starts at about $61,000, while the XL version goes for $62,500.

The Chevy Tahoe, which is almost identical to the Yukon, finished in fifth place with the same reliability score as the Yukon. It also starts at $61,000. Then there’s the Ford Expedition, which finished in fourth place. It received a reliability score of 8.8 out of 10. While this Ford SUV is a good option, it won’t be cheap as it starts at about $63,500.

These models are good, but Toyota’s reliable large SUVs are even better.

The Toyota Land Cruiser and Sequoia dominate its large SUV rivals

As far as the top two go, Toyota took both spots. On top of that, both Toyota large SUVs received reliability ratings that were much higher than their rivals. The Toyota Sequoia finished in second place owing to its reliability score of 9.4 out of 10. That’s about 0.6 higher than the SUV that finished in third place. Unlike many modern SUVs, the Sequoia isn’t a crossover, and its design was based on a truck.

A brand-new Sequoia goes for just over $60,000, which is a fairly affordable price tag compared to its rivals. It also has three rows of seats, and the seats are spacious as well. On top of that, Toyota redesigned the Sequoia for the 2023 model year, and it comes with some new features. The big new feature is its powertrain, as Toyota replaced the Sequoia’s V8 with a V6 hybrid. It now gets 437 hp while providing 23 mpg combined.

The Land Cruiser, meanwhile, was in first place with a reliability score of 9.8 out of 10. The newest Land Cruisers start at about $85,000, but unfortunately, Toyota discontinued the Land Cruiser in the American market after the 2021 model year. Regardless, it’s still a capable large SUV, especially in terms of off-roading.

The Chevy Suburban is also a good option as far as reliable large SUVs go

The Chevy Suburban was the last large SUV that made iSeeCars’ list. It finished in third place with a reliability score of 8.8 out of 10. That score tied it with the Expedition, but the Suburban is a great car overall.

It starts at about $53,500, which makes it the cheapest reliable large SUV. Chevy also redesigned the SUV in 2021, which improved many of its specs. For example, it gained 23 cu-ft of cargo space, and the seats became roomier too. Again, it’s a solid option, but it’s not the same as Toyota’s reliable large SUVs.
