You don’t have to settle for a short truck because the Toyota Tundra understands why ground clearance is incredibly important. Now you can take your 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro to literal new heights with the 3.0-inch lift kit.

What comes with the 2022 Toyota TRD Pro 3.0-inch lift kit?

The 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is available with a new TRD lift kit that provides a 3.0-inch lift in the front and a 2.0-inch lift in the rear. It provides an additional 2.6 inches of ground clearance. So, it goes up from 10.6 inches to 13.2 inches.

Toyota noted that TRD engineers developed the kit. It’s the only Toyota-approved lift kit that’s compatible with the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) system. It’s available nationwide as a dealership-installed option.

Mikal el Arculli, TRD Principle Engineer, shared that after-market lift kits can come with various compromises that impact vehicle features and safety systems. But the TRD lift kit is designed to work seamlessly with the Tundra’s standard features.

It retains the entire TSS system’s functionality and maintains similar stock driving dynamics with the high center of gravity and confident look drivers want with a lift.

Does the Tundra TRD lift kit have off-roading improvements?

Yes, the 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro lift kit provides extra ground clearance and enhanced off-roading capabilities. It increases the approach angle from 21.0 to 26.0 degrees. Also, the departure angle improves from 24.0 to 25.0 degrees.

The kit includes Bilstein shocks in the front and rear, taller front coil springs, Roush forged upper control arms, front lower knuckles, front stabilizer links, front outer tie-rods, front tie rod sleeves, front extended drive shafts, front bump stops, extended brake flex hoses, and rear spring spacers.

The Bilstein monotube shocks and TRD red coil springs are tuned by TRD, like the lift kit that made its debut for the Toyota Tacoma last year.

Also, the shocks feature digestive pistons to enhance low-speed body control and exceptional high-speed stability. The Roush forged upper control arms are stronger to account for the additional suspension travel provided by the lift.

How much does the Tundra TRD lift kit cost?

You can add the TRD lift kit to the 2022 Toyota Tundra and newer models for the price of $3,995. This price covers the cost of the hardware but doesn’t include to cost of installation labor.

The kit is available with iFORCE and iFORCE-MAX 4×4 models paired with the 5.5- or 6.5-foot bed. It can’t be paired with Tundra TRD Pro or TRD Sport trims equipped with the optional Adaptive Variable Suspension or air suspension.

However, the kit does have a stellar warranty that includes a three-year or 36,000-mile warranty on parts installed prior to or at the time of sale. If the equipment is added to a truck that has already been purchased, then you get 12 months of coverage.

The coverage starts regardless of mileage from the date the kit is installed, or the remainder of any applicable new vehicle warranty is available, based on which option is better.

We’re ready to see the Toyota Tundra climb even higher. We hope to test a lifted model soon to see how it compares to shorter trucks.
