Toyota trucks hold their value

The 2020 Toyota Tacoma won the Best Resale Value award for midsize trucks for the sixth year in a row. This impressive feat was accomplished because the Tacoma’s well-known for its quality build, reliability, and toughness. Kelley Blue Book loves the Toyota Tacoma’s endurance, off-road capabilities, and the towing capacity of up to 6,800 pounds that makes hauling toys a breeze.

There’s a huge range of options for this legendary pick-up, with more than 30 different combos of engines, transmissions, and trim levels. Under the hood, the reliable Tacoma has several choices. There’s a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder that puts out 159 hp or a 278-hp 3.5-liter V8 – both mated to an automatic 6-speed transmission. The Tacoma models with a V6 engine come with the Toyota towing package as standard. 

Kelley Blue Book appreciated the Tacoma’s off-road capability and the three TRD models. Features that are great on the trail include a nearly 360-degree view of your surroundings thanks to a multi-terrain monitor and panoramic view monitor. There’s even a front-projected video playback system that helps you avoid obstacles in the road like rocks and stumps. A two-speed transfer case is also available with crawl control. 

The Toyota Tundra wins best full-size truck

With a predicted resale value of 57.2 percent after 5 years, the 2020 Toyota Tundra won the Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Award for a full-size truck in 2020. Like all Toyota trucks, it’s built to last and has a stellar reputation in truck-loving circles. With a 10,000-pound towing capacity, a spacious and comfortable cabin, and a comfortable ride, the Toyota Tundra is a truck that is perfect for both family life and the toughest jobs. 

Another reason the Tundra won the award for best resale value is its array of advanced safety features. Included technology includes goodies like standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. It also stands apart at the only half-ton truck with a standard V8 engine. Although the Toyota Tundra has hardly changed over the years, the dash contains all the new technology you expect including an 8-inch touchscreen that gives you clear access to navigation and audio. 

What’s new for 2020?

There are a few changes in 2020 for the Toyota Tacoma. They’ve added a 10-way power-adjustable front seat for enhanced comfort in the cabin along with an upgraded audio system. There’s also a new 7-inch touchscreen with standard Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and Apple CarPlay. There is now optional LED lighting in the truck bed, and the TRD Sport trim gets new 17-inch wheels and LED fog lamps. 

Incredibly, the 2020 Toyota Tundra is largely unchanged for the 13th year in a row. All of this truck’s competitors have recently been redesigned, but not the Tundra. There are small updates that keep the Tundra fresh and competitive, but the truck hasn’t been altered since 2007 and still stays on top. The Toyota Tundra’s excellent reliability, large back seat, and brand-loyalty means there’s no need to mess with a good thing.
