Unfortunately, not all news about trucks is good. An investigation is underway at the Stellantis Toledo Assembly Complex in Ohio after an employee may have tragically crushed by a Jeep Gladiator model.

The mood among the Stellantis Toledo Assembly Complex remains somber after a fatal accident claimed a life. Shockwaves have been sent through the production facility and local community. 

According to WTOL, the incident occurred in Building 7, on the south side of the plant where the Jeep Gladiator trucks are assembled. Allegedly, an employee was crushed by a vehicle, causing local authorities to immediately respond. 

Members of the Toledo police department arrived at the scene at 1:55 PM and the investigation is currently ongoing. Then investigators from the Lucas County Coroner’s Office were dispatched. 

Currently, the identity of the employee and details about the fatal incident have not been released. Also, Stellantis shared that it is aware of the incident at the Toledo Assembly Complex. As the incident is currently under investigation, no further details can be provided at this time.

Meanwhile, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has been notified about the fatality and sent compliance officers to the plant to investigate. 

OSHA fatality investigations can take months to complete, so it will probably be a while before the cause and circumstances are released. 

The Stellantis Toledo Assembly plant builds Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Wrangler models. About 4,679 workers are employed there, and they band together as a massive Jeep family. We send our condolences to family members, friends, and anyone else impacted by this tragic loss.
