What is a vintage RV park? 

A vintage RV park is a campground area with retro RVs and campers available for you to enjoy. They are on massive plots of land with enough space for you to get away from other people without needing your own RV. 

Plus, once you rent your vintage trailer, camper, or RV, you don’t need a truck to tow it. You can drive your family car straight to most destinations. In some areas, you may need a vehicle with at least all-wheel drive to handle snow and gravel roads. 

Also, some RV grounds don’t allow older RVs. According to Everything About RVing, there are RV parks, campgrounds, and resorts that don’t allow older RVs to use their facilities. This is in an attempt to cater to wealthy RV owners. 

Some RV resorts don’t want to look like a used RV lot, so they have a 10-year rule. If your RV is older than 10 years old, it isn’t allowed, no matter how good it looks. But some will let you in if your RV still looks good.

The Desert Sands vintage RV park is located in Borrego Springs, California, and has a rich history. It has been welcoming campers since 1960 and feels more like a community than just a park. 

On the property, there are multiple vintage RVs from the 1950s and 1960s that are regularly rented out to guests. You can choose to stay in older Airstreams, Silver Streaks, and canned hams like the Shasta. 

Each RV has private outdoor seating for you to enjoy, plus the park laundromat is inside of a vintage camper. This park is known for glamping, the more comfortable style of camping. Instead of roughing it in a tent, you get a comfy bed close to nature with modern amenities showcased in retro style. 

2. The Starlite Classic Campground 

The Starlite Classic Campground in Canon City, Colorado, makes you feel like you traveled back in time. Some of the classic RVs have older cars to match. The area is full of vintage colors like teal and powder pink to suit vintage needs. 

They have a 1950 Spartan, 1973 Tiki Winnebago, 1962 Shasta Airflyte, and more. Each camper is paired with outdoor seating and a personal fire pit to enjoy. Plus, they have a dog park, so your best friend can run around off-leash for a while. 

This area is close to Denver, Colorado Springs, and Royal Gorge Bridge, the country’s highest suspension bridge. There are tons of outdoor activities around with your own vintage camper waiting for you after a long day of adventuring.
