Turns Out the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus Is Pretty Swanky
Slotted between the Lincoln Aviator and smaller Lincoln Corsair, the Lincoln Nautilus is a midsize luxury SUV that competes with premium SUVs like the Lexus RX and Cadillac XT5. And for the 2021 model year, the Lincoln Nautilus has undergone a pretty thorough redesign. From its refined front end to its calming and perfectly appointed interior, Lincoln held nothing back when redesigning the Lincoln Nautilus. Don’t just take our word for it, though.
The inspiration behind the Nautilus’ swanky redesign
“It’s a story about refinement, not reinvention,” Trevor Scott, Lincoln Brand Marketing Manager, said of the Nautilus’ redesign. Michael Sprague, North America director of Lincoln, agreed, adding that the redesign’s intent was not only of refinement but also to round out Lincoln’s distinct lineup of SUVs by creating a true automotive sanctuary.
And, consistent with its Quiet Flight DNA design language, Lincoln was able to do precisely that. The exterior of the SUV features a more polished, refined front end. It’s also available in three new exterior colors – Asher Gray, Green Gem, and signature Lincoln Flight Blue. Shoppers can choose from two new standard interior colors in addition to the new Chalet, and Flight Lincoln Black Label themes too.
All in all, Lincoln color and materials design manager Ronni Celoto says, “It has been a collaborative process from the beginning between the color and materials team and the design team to ensure that that the new themes really sweep the cabin with color in all the right areas and round out the design in a harmonious way.”
An interior that’s as serene as it is tech-savvy
While the exterior of the Lincoln Nautilus did get a slight refresh, it’s the interior of the redesigned Nautilus that genuinely stands out. At the top of the center stack sits a 13.2-inch horizontal touchscreen display featuring the latest iteration of SYNC 4. Phone As A Key technology comes new to the Nautilus too, and can be activated using the Lincoln Way app. Lincoln Co-Pilot360 is now standard as well.
And for a truly serene experience behind the wheel? Consider the Nautilus Black Label. The Black Label Chalet theme evokes all of the pleasures of hitting the mountain slopes and the warm comfort of an après-ski lodge that comes after. Meanwhile, Flight, which is available next year, perfectly balances premium materials like rich leathers and other elements to provide the sensation of taking off into the skies.
Is this swanky new SUV worth buying?
As serene and as swanky as the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus might be, is it actually an SUV worth buying? Well, according to Kelley Blue Book, “This Lincoln continues to be more about comfort and refinement, and in those areas, the 2021 Nautilus shines.” And Kelley Blue Book isn’t wrong. When it comes to its redesigned interior, the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus does seem pretty irresistible. But to figure out if it’s the right fit for you? You should probably get behind the wheel for a test drive when the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus arrives at dealerships early next year.
